Aggrieved members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who recently alleged that they have been technically sidelined in the ongoing appointments of the party nationwide, are calling on the party to embark on membership identification exercise.

The members in a press release dated 7th February, 2016, and signed by Samson Oye, as secretary of the group, made available to REALITY, are calling on the various states controlled by the APC to embark on the ID card identification exercise in order to expose and have a genuine data base of its members.

According to them, this would help solve the present tension and membership claim that is heating up the party.

You would recall that this paper had publish similar position of some aggrieved members of the party in Plateau state who have allegedly claimed that they are been sidelined in the ongoing appointments by Governor Simon Lalong.

The press release in party reads:

“We are APC members and we have our membership cards. What we are seeing is that most people been appointed into political offices in some states controlled by the party and at the national level are not card carrying members of the party.

“We understand the positive roles other political parties played for the success of our party in the 2015 general election but, this still does not make them members of our party, the APC.

“To solve and nip the tension that is brewing in the party over this issue, we call on the leadership of the party at the state and national level to embark on “Operation Show Your Membership Card now!”
