Don’t Use Public Funds To Celebrate My Birthday, Gov. Lalong Warns All Organs of PLSG

Governor Simon Lalong has warned all organs of his administration not to use public funds to celebrate his birthday with him. He said such funds should be channeled towards the effect service of the people of the state.
The Governor whose birthday is to be marked tomorrow, the 5th of May, 2016, in a press release dated 4th May, 2016, signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Nanle, and made available to REALITY, also directed that Ministries or Parastatals should not use public funds for the purpose of this felicitation.

THE RELEASE READS:

“The Birthday of the Executive Governor of Plateau, Rt. Hon. Barr Simon Bako Lalong is the 5th of May, 2016 and as is the usual practice in our polity, Government Ministries, Agencies, Commissions, Boards and Departments will seek to identify with the Governor through sponsored felicitations and gifts.

“While the Governor appreciates the show of solidarity these gestures seek to convey, His Excellency has directed in keeping with his conviction, that no organ of Government, Ministry or Parastatal should use public funds for the purpose of this felicitation. 

“The Governor is of the firm believe that no greater honour could be done to his person and the people of Plateau on this special day than the application of these funds for the good of public service, especially in this time of economic recession.
“He has further requested for special prayers from all citizens for God’s guidance and direction as he leads the State to greater heights.
