Youths in Plateau State have found a good reason to join hands and work with the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration led by Governor Simon Lalong, as he takes bold steps in appointing their own as Director General of the recently established Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Bureau and the newly established Plateau State Micro-Finance Development Agency.
You would recall that Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has recently appointed Mr. Haggai Haruna Gutap as the Director -General of the newly established Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency and Mr. Joseph Jenner Lengmang as the Director-General, of the recently established Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Bureau.
According to the press release announcing his appointment, dated 19th April, 2016 and signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Nanle, Mr. Haggai’s appointment is to help the Rescue administration of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State, led by Governor Lalong to create economic opportunities to support growth in all sectors of the state.
Before his appointment, the release stated that Mr. Haggai Haruna was the Managing Director of Finger Tips Enterprise Development Partners, based in Abuja.
“Mr. Gutap, is a holder of Masters of Science Degree in Development Economics of the University of Jos and a Certified Micro-Finance Practitioner of the Central Bank of Nigeria.” It added.
You would recall that a week earlier, Governor Simon Bako Lalong had also approved the appointment of Mr. Joseph Jenner Lengmang as the Director-General, of the recently established Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Bureau.
The press release dated 14th April and signed by Mr. Emmanuel Nanle, stated that, the appointment of Mr. Joseph, is “In fulfillment of Governor Lalong’s promise to consolidate on the Peace, Security and Good Governance compliment of the Policy thrust of the Rescue Administration in Plateau State, through pragmatic and proactive Peace Building measures.”
From records, before Mr. Lengmang’s appointment, he was a Lecturer with Centre for Conflict Management and Peace Studies, University of Jos.
Hosting the duo in a mini celebration at El Classico Bar at Rayfield in Jos South Local Government Area of the state this evening, the youths in their hundreds, thanked the governor for listening to them and appointing the duo to build the peace and the economic power needs of the people of the state.
In their responses to their host, the new appointees, promises to give in their best but, called on the youths in the state to join hands with them, the Governor and the APC administration to achieve its set goals and campaign promises to the people.
Adding that, “we shall be operating an open door police. No matter our knowledge, it is still limited so, we shall be depending on your advices. We promise not to fail you and our generation. But if we fail, you too failed!
Attending the occasion were youths from across the state including the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the state Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Nanle , who charged the appointees to see their appointments, as a major test in their life and so, “failure is not an option.”
“You are expected to bring your wealth of experience to consolidating on the practical gains made by the Rescue Government with the return of peace in the State”. Nanle added.
