GOVERNOR LALONG AND THE APC, HAVE DEFICIENCY IN GOVERNANCE-PDP

By: Valentine Adese

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Plateau State, has described the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration led by Governor Simon Lalong in the state, as having deficiency in governance.

The State Publicity Secretary to the chapter, Hon. John T.  Akans, who was fielding answers to questions from media owners in the state during an interactive session in his office,  said if the leadership of the APC and Governor Lalong failed to address and amend their lapses before the end of the next two years, it would be the end of the road for the party and the governor.

Gov. Lalong

Hon. John said, “It is not the issue of being in the opposition. But I hope and pray that what we are saying would help Governor Laong! Because, if he does not amend and correct himself, within these remaining years it would not be good for him. If not, I don’t think he has any hope again!

“This is because, from what I am seeing and what the people of the state are saying, the governor has deficiency in governance.

“I will advise him to enroll in the PDP’s Democratic Institute.”

HON. JOHN T. AKANS REACTED THIS WAY TO THE QUESTION PUT TO HIM:

Kindly introduce yourself sir?

I am Hon. John T.  Akans (KSM), I am the State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State.

Hon. John Akans
The projects abandoned by the immediate past PDP administration led by Sen. Jonah Jang in Plateau State, is being completed by the present All Progressive Congress (APC) administration led by Governor Simon Lalong. Has the PDP commended him?

Which of the project do you what me to comment on?

See the flyover at the Secretariat Junction.

You see, when you want to build a house, the person that would start from the foundation to the roofing level and somebody who would just roof it, who would you commend? The visionary is more to be commended here. Not just someone who is just an opportunist. More also, government is a continuous process, it is a project he must complete and that is why he is elected as the governor of the state. He has no choice!

If he does not want to complete them, let him leave them now! Let me tell you, if the PDP government in the state is still on board, this road and bridge would have been history.

For purpose of revelation, I want you to know that the immediate past governor who awarded this contract, never requested a kobo as return from PW. What he requested for, was for the job to be done according to standard, agreed terms and specifications.  You can see that the company did a very perfect job!

But this present APC administration in the state, in handling the project is coming with a corrupt spirit. You know what happened? The administration would pay the contractors N5 and instruct them to bring back N3 to them. More recent is the contract awarded for N1.5bn. after awarding the contract we heard that the administration is asking the company to bring back N500m to them.

When they complained, the administration has directed them to write for variation. Is that the party and governor elected to represent the interest of the people? To us, the administration and the governor are democrats who are here to cheat the people of the state.

Is the state not paying him as a governor? Dose the governor not enjoy his salary?  Please ask them!
Apart from this overhead bridge issue, the PDP left behind over 90 projects that are up to 90% completion. These are not abandoned projects and yet, none has been completed and commissioned by the APC administration led by Governor Lalong in the past 365 days.

Just give me the name of one of the commissioned project. I challenge you!

To me, it is after showing me the project before I will now ask you which one he has also initiated. If he cannot complete the ones PDP left behind that is over 90% completion, is it his own he would be able to initiate?

We don’t know what the people of Plateau state have done wrong to deserve this irresponsible administration and poor leadership? It is high time for us to tell ourselves the home truth.

It is not the issue of being in the opposition. But I hope and pray that what we are saying would help Governor Laong! Because, if he does not amend and correct himself, within these remaining years it would not be good for him. If not, I don’t think he has any hope again!

This is because, from what I am seeing and what the people of the state are saying, the governor has deficiency in governance.

I will advise him to enroll in the PDP’s Democratic Institute.
