GRAZING RESERVE IS A TIME BOMB IN PLATEAU STATE—D. T. SANGO

By: Valentine Adese:

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Hon. D. T. Sango, has joined his voice to hundreds of citizens of Plateau State who are condemning the alleged decision of the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration of planning to create a grazing reserve in the state.

Although there are reports making the rounds that the Plateau State government may have rescinded the decision, the issue in the state, is taking more important place in political discussions from the media to the market place.

D. T. Sango, while commending, Reps Johnbull Shekarau over his empowerment program in far away Shendam in Shendam Local Government Area, said, “This decision of the present administration in the state on grazing reserve is a time bomb. I will advise the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, to look the other way.”

You would recall that the immediate past Governor of the state, Sen. Jonah Jang also under the platform of the PDP, had also condemned Governor Lalong for taking the Grazing reserve policy without consulting the people.

Although Jang has come under heavy media condemnation from supporters, loyalists and the Lalong’s administration, over his comments, the Senator is unperturbed.

In a recent reaction to Governor Lalong’s press release, dated 12th June, 2016, in which the Governor referred to him (Sen. Jang), as a “man of troubled conscience”, the media aide to Sen. Jang, Mr. Clinton Garuba has reiterated that the grazing policy, is “anti people, dangerous and self serving.”

The recent statement from Sen. Jang in party reads:

“In a bid to hurriedly score some cheap political points, the Plateau state governor who lacked the voice to speak to his people on his endorsement of the grazing reserve policy, has suddenly found it convenient to attack the person of Senator Jonah Jang who only came out to clearly state his position on the matter.”
