As part of the events to mark its 10th anniversary, the Coordinator and Presenter of the programme, Ruth Abwo, is organizing an anniversary celebration dinner, which would be coming up in the third week of July.

You would recall that Muryar-Mata (Voices of Women) started production and transmission in June 2006 on PRTVC Jos.

The programme came on board with the sole aim of protecting and promoting the rights of the less privileged and also to encourage peaceful co-existence in the society, with a special focus on Women and Children, who are the most vulnerable in society in crisis situation.

From the views of its listeners, the importance of the programme in Plateau state and its environs cannot be over emphasized, considering the relative peace being enjoyed currently in the state.

For the women listeners specifically, who spoke to REALITY, “all efforts should be made towards sustaining the programme on radio.”

The Coordinator, Ruth Abwo, in course of preparing for the celebration, through a notification letter made available to REALITY, she is calling on worthy ventures, individuals, cooperate bodies and politicians, to partner and sponsor the 10th anniversary dinner.

You would also recall that, Muryar-Mata was initiated by the West Africa Network for Peace (WANEP), to create a women’s only space with the broad goal of elevating women from their state of obscurity to the fore, to enable them play key roles alongside men in building peace.
