HON ABDUL SALEH VS HON. BABA HASSAN (APC VS APC): RULING NOW FIXED FOR 8TH JULY, 2016

Ruling on the matter between Hon. Abdul Saleh and Hon. Baba Hassan, all of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State, in the Federal High Court sitting in Jos, has been re-fixed for 8th July 2016.


According to court personnel, this was owing to the Sallah holidays fixed for Tuesday and Wednesday by the Federal Government.


You would recall that the court had earlier fixed 6th July being Wednesday 6th July, 2016, to deliver a ruling on the matter

You would also recall that, Hon. Saleh is challenging the qualification of Hon. Hassan to contest the House of Assembly election in the 2015 general election.

However, to put paid to the alleged criminal issue been raised by the suit, the Counsel to Hon. Baba Hassan representing Jos North-North in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Solomon Umoh (SAN) at the hearing today, told the Court that the Police has done their investigation and on a personal communication with the police through his firm, the police wrote his office that, the allegation of Baba Hassan not completing his studies at the University of Jos was false.

He said the police report indicated that Hon. Baba completed his studies.

Solomon Umoh SAN said, “the report of the investigation of the Police is part of the documents attached to the second Further and Better Affidavit dated 17th June, being Exhibits IBH 7 and 10”.

The presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Musa Kuray, after listening to the Counsel to parties in the matter, their submissions in the Preliminary Objection raised by Hon. Baba Hassan and the motions in the substantive case, adjourned the case for ruling.
