IN RESPECT OF AN ICT CENTER PURPORTED TO HAVE BEEN BUILT AND EQUIPPED IN DENGI THE HEADQUARTER OF KANAM L.G.A, BY SENATOR JOSHUA CHIBI DARIYE.
We want to put
it in record in the interest of truth and justice that as much as we known and
by the investigation we thoroughly carried out, there was and there is Nothing
LIKE THAT IN DENGI OR ANY WHERE IN KANAM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.
However, the
portrait of the building supposedly to be the purported ICT CENTRE DENGI,
resembled in size, shape, colour and location with residential apartment of one
UZAIRU MUHAMMAD (TURAKIN TAKZUL) otherwise there is no any structure like the
one contained in the aforementioned programme in Dengi.
Inview of the
Above, we spoke with the said UZAIRU MUHAMMAD, and he confirmed to us that he
was once approached by one politician from Kanam on the issues of hire purchase
for that but did not entered into any formal agreement to that effect. He also
confirmed to us that he erected the building from the scratch and he did not
transferred the possession and ownership of the said property to any person or
corporate organization either in the name of rent or sale. As he is still in
possession of all the documents of his property. And the said property has no
any computer(s) therein.
We are saying
this publicly today being 7th July, 2017 that the claim by the SENATOR that the
purported ICT CENTRE is in Dengi, well furnished and well equipped with
computers and other electronic gadgets is a scam of the highest order and exist
only in the figment of his imaginations.
On this note, we
want to scorn vehemently, the clams that has he constructed an ICT CENTRE in
Dengi, and the millions of naira supposedly to have been used for the project
has only went down waterloo. We also want to remind the Senator that we are
still waiting patiently for his maiden project in Kanam as a SENATOR because
hitherto there is none that he carried out for the 6 (six) years he has been in
the senate.
As a people, we
consider the disrespectful manner he has projected the issue as an utter mark
of neglect of the people that gave him the fattest votes in his first term bid
to represent us in the upper legislative chamber. We also want to remind him of
the rousing welcome he used to be greeted with and call on him to reciprocate
by giving Kanam the priority it deserved in his plans for the remaining periods.
Otherwise we
have sufficient reason to believe that the SENATOR have no any genuine
intention to do anything tangible for the people of Kanam.
On the
distribution of motorcycles that took place on the 3rd July, 2017 at Pankshin,
we also want to use this medium to express our dissatisfaction with the
process. It was reported that 20 (twenty) brand new motorcycles were given to
the people of Kanam but to only realised much later that most of the
motorcycles that reached the beneficiaries were second hand motorcycles.
We want to put
it categorically clear here, that the era of impurity and smokescreen project
is over in Kanam. By this, we therefore, want to remind the Senator that he is
still owing us an ICT CENTRE in Kanam and we are waiting for the execution of
the project.
Otherwise,
Kanam, will never forgive him and posterity will not be kind to him for
betraying the mandate and trust repost on him.
We are making
this release consistently believing that the Senator will ponder on the issue
raised with a view to effecting corrections. We address these issues without
any ill will or motive against the SENATOR or his aid(s) if any from Kanam, but
to clarify the issue and put the record straight in the overall interest of
Kanam and posterity reasons.
To the law
abiding people of Kanam, especially the youths, religion, tribal and community
development associations, we appeal for calmness as we continue to speak on
their behalves. Now more than ever, we cannot afford to rest on our Laurels in
our efforts to call for the restoration of good representation and good
governance and to pursue for good things for our people.
Thank you and
God bless.
