By: valentine Adese and Frank Agbai,

The youths who came calling with a press release to REALITY Office in Jos, dated 19th August, 2017 and signed by 20 of them, are calling on the State Government to take the issue of security in the local government a matter of priority.

You would recall that, Mr. Haruna Maren a newly installed Traditional Chief in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State, Nigeria, was recently killed in a fresh attack by unknown gunmen.

The youths in their press text stated that, the deceased Chief was only recently installed as the Galadima (Community leader) of Monguna following the death of the former, as a result of heart attack.

“The deceased Senior Traditional Chief, the Saf Monguna, Chief Daniel Adake was in 2015 killed in similar attack by unknown gunmen. The attack was followed shortly by the killing of the Paramount ruler of Bokkos, Saf Lazarus Agai in 2016.”

Adding that, “We are seriously worried, as we feel the state government has forgotten the need to provide security for the good people of Bokkos.”

According to the text of the youths, their grievance is firmly rooted on the fact that these killings have continued unabated.
