The Plateau State Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) chapter, Barr. Bashir Musa Sati, has advised Nigerians and his party members to stop accusing people with allegations that they cannot prove.
“It is easy for someone to sit down in his bedroom, social gathering or anywhere to concoct a story and send it out to the media, but you see the burden of proof lies with him”.
Barr. Bashir, boldly said, “For me, I have not collected any money from anybody and I want to also believe that, my Chairman, Hon. Letep Dabang has not collected anything from anybody unless until the contrary is proven”.
“People should begin to understand me, at one of our meetings with the Commissioners, Legislators and the TICs, right to their faces, I stood up and said the TICs’ tenure is long overdue. I was the only person who stood up and said they must go!”
“So, if I had collected anything from them and I cannot come out boldly in public and say they must go then it means that I am opening my stomach for anybody with a knife to come and operate.” Barr. Bashir Submitted.
Barr. Bashir Musa Sati in Part said:
“I challenge anybody from anywhere who feels that at any given time he /she had brought out 10 naira to say Mr. Secretary take this as a mark of remuneration or as a gift to me to come forth”.
“I am over 60 years old now! I cannot collect such meager amount of money, I cannot go that low and start asking Local Government Chairmen for money”.
“Right from the beginning of their tenure I have never gone to visit any local government Chairman saying, I am here to pay solidarity or any form of visit. I don’t do that”.
‘In any case, if on their own volition they feel that, ok, let me just come and say thank you for doing well or to show appreciation is something different”.
“But if any comes and says we are giving you something to execute a purpose that is not good for Plateau people, I think that is an erroneous mistake and I will not be part of that.
“This is an issue that involves two people, and I know my Chairman cannot go down low to the point that he will go out asking people to give out money for anything”.
“For me, I have not collected any money from anybody and I want to also believe that my Chairman has not collected anything from anybody unless until the contrary is proven.
“People should begin to understand me, at one of our meetings with the commissioners, legislators and the TICs, right to their faces I stood up and said the TICs tenure is long overdue. I was the only person who stood up and said they must go. So if I had collected anything from them and ii can come out boldly in public and say they must go then it means that I am opening my stomach for anybody with a knife to come and operate”.
“I said it very clearly that they are long overdue and the system is not favourable and it is good for one to leave when the ovation was loudest and that is exactly what happened. I want to say it clearly that the Governor of Plateau, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has done very well by asking them to go because, they are just in transit!”
“So, when you are on transit and you get to a point where you cannot be able to go forward or backwards, it means you have exhausted all the knowledge you know on the road and you have gotten to a standstill”.
“So, the best bet is chart a new course so as to allow other people who can be able to pilot the affairs to move on. They are all party men, they are part of us. I know some of them are still in the system because they were sent back to their people and they were returned them, which is a very good idea”.
“If your people, decide to return you, fine and good!”
