How would you assess the APC administration on the Plateau?
This is a serious question before anybody who lives on the Plateau!
The APC Government on the Plateau, I see them as a government that is not serious. Not serious in the sense that, they don’t care about what the masses are going through, especially, our pensioners, those, who just retired from their many years of service, those, who have put in 35 years or so, into the service of Plateau state. Now the Governor is saying that he is going to pay them 5% of their gratuities, if this is true, this should be condemned by all well meaning citizen of Plateau state.
But, you see and are informed that, Governor Simon Lalong is approving contracts for the construction of new roads recently, don’t you think that these are reasons why he wants to cut down cost in order to construct these projects?
So, we read from the pages of the newspapers and if it is true, we then expect to see something happening on the Plateau in few weeks to come but, I can guarantee you that,…watch this government and see, for the next 12 months you will not be able to see them even completing the abandoned projects, talkless of doing new projects here on the Plateau. Why? The Governor is only interested in partying here and there. He is only interested in calling his media loyalists to come and then listen to the lies they will tell the good people of Plateau state. We the ADP are prepared to engage this government from now till 2019, when elections will be conducted on the Plateau and we are calling on the people to come out en mass to kick this people out because they mean no well for us.
They are coming out again with a grand plan to lie their way into the government house again and this is condemnable because we are seeing this people are not ready to serve the interest of ordinary Plateau citizens.
Well, I though you should have commended this Government for the peace we are enjoying today on the Plateau. Or do you feel there is no peace yet?
Well, Plateau as we all know, Plateau is known as the Home of Peace and Tourism, until some men of the underworld came in with certain turmoil to make the state to become a theater of one form of crisis or another but, thank God, the people of Plateau rose up and prayed seriously to God and then they worked out the way of achieving peace on the Plateau.
The kind of peace Governor Lalong is talking about is different from the peace that the Plateau people are enjoying right now. Lalong sees the issues of peace as a political means; it is not a genuine peace that he is talking about. The peace Lalong is talking about is what I call a cosmetic one, putting one or two things in place in order for people to say this man is trying his best but, as far as I am concerned, if Plateau should continue the way Lalong is going with it, something may explode in future. But God forbid, we the ADP, we have a grand plan to make sure there is a lasting peace on the Plateau if given the opportunity come 2019.
Most APC members, who have spoken to REALITY, feel and believe that the ADP does not have the required fund to sponsor candidates in any election, what is your take?
Let the APC tell me whether they came in to Plateau with money. How much did they have when they came into Plateau state, that they feel that the ADP need to have more before they win government from them?
What brought APC on board was just the Plateau project and those people who did the Plateau project now are regretting. They have come out publicly to repent before Plateau people that they are sorry for putting the state into this chaotic situation we are in. A Governor that only believes in partying, hosting parties here and there, like the last party he organized without involving Plateau based artists, not until after there was an uproar from the home based artists.
In order for Plateau not to remain in this shameful position, I advise Governor Simon Bako Lalong to do the needful. I have travelled to many states and I have seen how their Governors are doing one thing or the other, some are building airports, some are bringing investments into their states, some are creating opportunities for the youths in their states but, our Governor seem to just fold his hands, believing that the “cup of power” he is handling now will last forever. The ADP has a bad news for him as he will last there until May 29 exactly 12noon, when he will be vacating that office for our candidate.
