You would recall that in an effort to help check the crime of rape and other acts that violate the rights of women , especially the girl-child, the Plateau State chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) had earlier organized a one-day seminar during which issues bordering on sexual violence and rape took center stage.

With the theme; Rape: Endangering the Lives of Our children, stake holders who spoke at the seminar, advocated that the whistle blowing method in fighting corruption in the country should be extended to check the increasing rate of sexual violence against Women and the girl-child.
