CONDEMNATION OF ANCHA COMMUNITY, BASSA LGA BARBARIC KILLINGS
At a time when we thought the relative peace being enjoyed in Plateau State will be sustained and translated into a lasting one, we were visited with a callous, barbaric and inhuman attacks and killing of dozens of people, with others sustaining injuries while unquantified properties were destroyed making many people displaced.
Plateau Youth G-17 Peace and Progressive Forum wish to console with the people of Ancha Village, the Miango Nation, Bassa LGA, Plateau State and well meaning Nigerians over the inhuman killings that occurred on Thursday 7th Sept, 2017.
Our hearts are grieved and troubled with the attacks and killings.
We wish to condemn the attacks and killings in its entirety and in the strongest possible terms.
We want to charge the security agencies and government to live up to their responsibilities of protecting lives and property as well as ensuring peace is restored to the already troubled area which measures should be put in place to ensure flash points are well secured to curtail further attacks. Perpetrators of these heinous acts must be arrested with immediate effect and brought to book to serve as deterrent to others.
Government and well spirited individuals are hereby admonished to come to provide aids and other forms of relief materials to the affected communities in order to alleviate the sufferings of the affected community.
The community must be at alert and extremely vigilant in order to repel or report to security agencies people with unpleasant tendencies living among and moving around their communities.
With these attacks, it becomes expedient for us to call on all well meaning citizens of Plateau State to unite and protect the State from such attackers who find pleasure in shedding innocent blood without any provocation. Our strength lies greatly in our unity, while our disunity is a great weakness to us.
May God console those who lost their loved ones, grant those injured good health, may the souls of those killed rest in perfect peace and may God expose those behind the killings as well as their sponsors.
