In order to end the wave of violence and attacks in Plateau state, the body of Youths in Plateau State under the aegis of Plateau Youth Council (PYC), has called on the security operatives in the state, to gear their efforts towards arresting the perpetrators and their sponsors and prosecute them.

DR. FABONG AND THE EXCO OF PYC
The youth council which addressed a body of newsmen this morning, also stated that, “We will follow the arrest and prosecution to a logical conclusion.”

The Chairman of the Youth Council, Dr. Fabong Jemchang (MBBS, FMCFM),  who read the press text on behalf of other members of his EXCO, said the youths are pained that some people have decided to use the state for reprisal attack.
The Chairman in part said:

“We condemn in strong terms what happened yesterday in Katako axis and this should not be allowed to happen even in our wildest imaginations.

“We state emphatically that Plateau State is not a revenge ground as hard and harsh as this may sound. What happened yesterday just goes to show we have got people with evil intentions amidst of us, who are also determined to bring confusion and unrest.

“We call on the great peace loving youths and the good people of Plateau State, to display the strength of our collective will to deal with their evil, and make our society a better place to be.”
While commending the swift action of the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, the Chairman added that:

“The swift response of the Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong is highly commended. This is an expression of leadership, character and responsibility. We the youths are in support of the dusk to dawn curfew imposed on Jos and Bukuru metropolis to curb further tensions.”
