TEXT OF A PRESS BRIEFING BY CONCERNED KANAM APC STAKE HOLDERS/VOLA IN DENGI ON JANAUARY 26^TH 2018

 

 Gentlemen of the Press,

We have decided to address this conference as a result of growing anxiety amongst the people and the already charged atmosphere in our political space.

 

PRESIDENT BUHARI

We have carefully watched with admiration the numerous achievements recorded by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), particularly on the fight against corruption, the war against insurgency, the fixing of our battered economy by past administration and the bail-out he gave to various states of the federation, to cushion the hardship hitherto faced by civil servants, the graduate empowerment scheme, and the poor of the poorest programme, with other laudable projects like fixing our rail system and the enthronement of a disciplined society are few to mention.

We also noticed that the All Progressive Congress (APC) government in Plateau State, under the able leadership of, His Excellency Barrister Simon Bako Lalong has performed credibly in restoring peace and equitable distribution of appointments and projects across the state.

His prompt payment of salaries and other emoluments to deserving civil servants and other sundry workers, his policy of continuity through the completion of left-over projects by the immediate past administration and his humility in governance are clear attributes of a leader who deserves our support.

 

Accordingly, we the Concerned Stakeholders/VOLA of Kanam APC, having viewed all these achievements by Mr. President and our Governor, hereby  resolved to adopt President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Simon Bako Lalong, for a second term in office so as they can continue with the good things they have started.

By this endorsement of Mr. President and the Governor of Plateau State for a 2^nd term, we call on all lovers of democracy in Nigeria and Plateau State in particular to join forces with us to deliver President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Simon Bako Lalong in 2019.

We also advise former President Olusegun Obasanjo to stop distracting our President, as everyone has his approach to governance. We are satisfied with President Buhari’s style so Obasanjo should hold his peace.

We finally appeal to Nigerians to suggest positive ways to solving the problem of Farmers/Herders instead of beating the tom-tom of war that will bring no good to anyone. We believe in the indivisibility of the Nigerian Nation with one destiny and call on those that are misguided to have a rethink and focus their strength in what unites us more than what can divide us.
