Group Commends Gov. Lalong for Appointing Dati Commissioner, Suggests Information Ministry For Him

The nomination of the former Chairman of Mikang Local Government (LG), Mr. Yakubu Dati, as a Commissioner in Plateau State has been hailed, as step that will add value to the Governor Simon Lalong led administration.

A group under the aegis of, Plateau Ideal (PI) in a statement, signed by its Chairman Bulus  Zet, said the nomination has shown that Governor Lalong  is a good manager of Human Resources, who appreciates talent and intelligence and has not forgotten the role played by the former Chairman of Mikang in developing the state.

 

PI in the statement said it has confidence that Dati will not only live up to expectations but, will go a great length to mobilize the right support for building the state.

"You will recall that, after serving as Local Government Chairman, where he was the first to build quarters for Senior Staff of Local Governments and revived the Tehl festival, Dati became the Commissioner for Information and later spokesman of the Nigeria Aviation Industry and in all these, he performed wonderful well.

"You can also see that since his return to the state, a lot of ideas and strategies have been injected into how the state is run and he has personally won over many friends over to the Lalong’s administration."

The group called on Lalong to assign Dati the Information Ministry so that, he can initiate intelligent discourse and put a positive emblem on the image of the state,

"At this time, when issues concerning the state have not been on the positive aide and the Governor himself is trying hard to have a positive image in the media, the appointment of Dati would be the most appropriate thing to do.

"He has done it before so, he can do it again, this is his area of call, he is the best man for the job," the group stated.
