NOW THAT GOV. LALONG HAS STARTED CONSTRUCTIONS, WHAT NEXT FOR OTHER CONTENDERS COME 2019? ---ANALYSTS

By: Joy Olohi,

For over two years and more of the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration in Plateau State led by Governor Simon B. Lalong, one area of his administration’s 3 strong pillars thst he  has hardly paid attention to is construction.

GOV. LALONG
Rather, Governor Lalong has been more concerned about the welfare and security of the people of the state as a major obligation and as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the continuation and completion of some abandoned or uncompleted projects in and around the state.

The administration’s focus on security, apart from been Governor Lalong’s major achievement in the last two years, it has driven and built a peaceful environment in the state that is set to blow up the needed development that many have continued to pray for.

Governor Lalong’s ability and political willingness to pay the state workers their salary, as and when due, has not only help make workers of the state meet up with their family responsibilities but has boost the economic power of wealth distribution in the state.

Today, owing to his willingness to pay salaries to workers unlike his past predecessors, Plateau state is missing in the list of salary debtor-states in the Nigeria Labour Dairy.

In the rating of Governors at a recent event organized by the “Pavilion International” in which “Political Analysts” were selected across the country to meet at Gombe, from Monday 26/02/18 to Wednesday, 28/02/18, Prince Valentine Adese and Steve Aluko-Daniel had argued and placed before the audience that:

1.      With many people coming out to contest the governorship seat with Governor Lalong, who may be seeking a second term, many would be waiting and wondering what the other contenders would be promising to accomplish, which the Lalong administration in the state is not meeting up with now.

2.      Secondly, now that the administration led by Governor Lalong has added construction as part of its programme of activities, what next would they added as their campaign promises to the people?

3.      Thirdly, now that the Governor is not only listening to the people but, acting according to their interest, needs and desire, what strong argument would those preparing to contest against him tell the people to be with them and vote them come 2019, rather than for them to be with Governor Lalong?

Prince Valentine and Steve Aluko have in their respective suggestions, recommended that Governor Lalong should be picked as a performing Governor alongside the Governor of Lagos State, who are still in their first term and be supported for their second term bids if the index of performance are to be evaluated.
