The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has mobilized additional troops to Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, owing to expressed fears of the indigenous villagers that they may be attacked again by Herdsmen.
While disclosing this through a telephone interview with REALITY this morning, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Yakubu Dati, also added that security agencies in the state, especially, the Police is already preparing to charge to court some of those arrested in the Daffo attack.
“In addition, the state Agency for Peace has also mobilized to the area.” Mr. Dati further added.
You would recall that REALITY had reported that the number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Plateau State, seem to be increasing by the day, as people indigenous to villages under attack by herdsmen have continued to flee to safe areas in Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, after the Daffo attack.
Information earlier reaching REALITY News desk had suggested that, the IDPs are currently being housed by relatives and friends, while Churches in Bokkos main town, such as, ECWA, COCIN, CAC are now being used as IDP Camps.
You would recall that the Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, was quoted by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Yakubu Dati, that, the Governor has vowed that he will not rest until every life is secured.
To practically display his promise on safety, the Governor and his administration had given marching orders to the security agencies operating in the state, to immediately arrest and prosecute the criminals that perpetrated the killings of a number of persons in Bassa and Bokkos LGAs of the state.
