THE STATE OF THE NATION: IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE UNTOUCHABLE IN NIGERIA IN THIS 21ST CENTURY—EBOMI MINISTRY SPEAKS OUT

By: Valentine Adese,

With the spate of killings going on across the country by alleged Fulani Herdsmen and the inability of security agencies to act adequately by arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators of the acts among them, the Ebomi Ministry in Jos, the Plateau state capital has expressed surprise, while condemning the killings.

The Ministry, while taking a brief look into the state of the nation in a press briefing today, at its premises along Kashim Ibrahim street in Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, showed surprise that, in this 21st century, some people in Nigeria are still untouchable, despite the global practice of democratic principles.

PASTOR OGBAMGBA, FLANKED BY OTHER PASTORS IN THE MINISTRY
Addressing the press on behalf of the Ministry, the Special Adviser on Politics, Good-Governance and Foreign Affairs to the Ministry and its head, Prophet El-Buba, Pastor Chidiebere Ogbamgba said, “it is unfortunate that some people are untouchable in this country, especially, in this 21st century! We see people threatening government and yet, no arrests and prosecutions.

“We know that the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, vested the security of live and property in the hands of government yet, we see people been killed and properties being destroyed and nobody is arrested and prosecuted from the scene of the act. This is unfortunate!

“This is why the Ministry has been calling on the Presidency, to rise up and do the needful. Yes, we have been under different form of pressure for playing this role but, we have no choice.”

To assist in bring good governance to the country and to better the living standards of Nigerians, the Special Advisers, who also doubles as the Director of Programmes for the Ministry said, the Ministry is about to unveil a programme known as, “Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria” to help facilitate the emergence of quality, credible and reliable leaders for the country, come 2019.

According to him, the arm of the Ministry that would be in charge of the programme would be unveiled on the 29th of this month.

The Pastor said, “Our nation is on a cross-road. There is hunger, pains and suffering everywhere. While Mr. President was here in Plateau State, people were being killed in their ancestral homes in Plateau state.

“It is right that any reasonable person(s) should cry out! We are also crying out for the future generations and we are doing this in conjunction with, Prophet El-Buba.

“As I said earlier, the Prophet has greatly been misunderstood and so, his actions and inaction have become controversial.

“As a Ministry, we are bringing up a programme, to be known as, “Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria. This is to help bring credible Nigerians, who will see how they can move the nation forward.

“Our weapon is our PVC!

“We are very lucky in this country that fighting has not caught up with the nation because, despite all that have happened, we still remain as one. In some countries, some of the very little things that have happened have cause division among them.

“Nigeria has a lot of potentials and resources yet, the faces of Nigerians show frustration. It is unfortunate!
“Enough is enough!”

According to Pastor Ogbamgba, the Ministry would be have its congresses from 26th to 30th of this month and that the home Ministry expects people to come from the 36 states of the federation and beyond.
