The declaration of the Governor to contest the forthcoming gubernatorial election come 2019 was made today at the All progressive Congress (APC) Stakeholders meeting held at Yelwa Club in Jos, Plateau State and attracted a standing ovation.

The meeting chaired by the APC Chairman, Latep Dabang had in attendance, the entire party leadership in the State, the Deputy Governor and members of the State Executive Council, the Hon. Speaker and members of the Plateau State House of Assembly (PLHA) as well as members of the National Assembly.

Speakers including Dame Pauline Tallen, former Deputy Governor, Arc Pam Dung Gyang , former Governorship aspirant, Mallam Samaila Makama, former Chairman, National Population Commission and several others.

They all paid glowing tributes to Governor Lalong for successfully steering the APC nationally away from crisis, following his Committee report which gave an amicable solution.

However, reports has it that, earlier at the meeting, Hon Edward Pwajok (SAN) had moved a motion to compel the Governor to declare for the forthcoming gubernatorial contest in the state, which was seconded unanimously.
