Anambra State House of Assembly (ASHA) members have condemned the killing of one Mr. Chinedu Ezegwu, who was allegedly assassinated by unknown men on Wednesday the 9th of May 2018 in Enugu in strong terms.
The House members have also urged the Governors of Anambra and Enugu states to ensure that the culprits are brought to book.
Member representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency, Hon. Chigbu Enwezor had brought a matter of urgent public importance on the murder of one Mr. Chinedu Ezegwu to the floor of the House.
Late Chinedu Ezegwu, according to Hon. Chigbu hails from his constituency and only came in from Abuja for the burial of his uncle, which is to take place this weekend. He was however found dead on the road side with his hands and legs tied. According to the Law,aker, he was killed in Enugu where his family resides.
Hon. Enwezor called on the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano and his counterpart the Governor of Enugu state, to liaise and give the necessary directives so as to bring the culprits to book.
On his part, Hon. Uche Okafor, member representing Ayamelum constituency, while adding his voice, condoled the family of the deceased and Onitsha North 1 constituency, saying that, the victim is his childhood friend back then at Enugu.
“It is so sad and pathetic that Mr. Chinedu, a promising and vibrant young man in his mid-thirties died this way!”. He lamented.
Hon. Obinna Emeneka, member representing Anambra East, while condemning the barbaric act, wondered why such a wicked act happened.
He advised Nigerians to be security conscious and also to be vigilant, stressing that the world is now full of wickedness and wicked people.
Hon. Barrister Iruoba Kingsley, member representing Nnewi South 1, expressed bitterness saying, “Nobody is safe in this country. It could be anybody tomorrow". He called on the state Governor of both states to do the needful by making everything humanly possible to trace the killers of Mr. Chinedu.
