ANAMBRA: STATE LEGISLATORS COMMEND SECURITY CHIEFS FOR HELPING GOV. OBIANO KEEP ANAMBRA SAFE

Members of the Anambra State House of Assembly (ASHA), have commended the Security Chiefs in the state, for supporting and cooperating with the state Governor, Willie Obiano, in making Anambra state the safest state in Nigeria.

At the House sitting yesterday, 15th of May, 2018, Member representing Ayamelum Constituency, Hon. Uche Okafor, led the motion commending the Security Chiefs for their support to the Governor of Anambra state in making Anambra state the safest state in Nigeria.

According to Hon. Uche Okafor, “The security of Ndi-Anambra has remained the top priority of his Excellency Chief Willie Obiano”.


Adding further that, “Gone are the days when jungle justice existed in Anambra state, where a group, who parade themselves as “Bakasi Boys”, were taking law into their hands and making the state unsafe. Governor Obiano has provided resources and it has been utilized by those in charge and we can all see the result. Anambra is now safer!”.

Hon. Obinna Chris Emeneka, Member representing Anambra East, while adding his voice in support for the motion said, “It is very important for one to appreciate those, who bring out the best in them”.

Quoting citing 33, 34 and 35 of the 1999 Constitution (as Amended), on the right to life, dignity and personal liberty, which all centers on security, he prayed that the security been enjoyed by Anamberians should be sustained by the Governor, the Security Chiefs and the people.

On his part, Hon. Ezenwune Fabian, Member representing Idemili South Constituency, supported the motion by appreciating the great effort of the security Chiefs through their ability sustain the peace in the state. He appreciated the fact that, the menace of herdsmen, kidnapping and rape have been drastically curtailed by the security Chiefs in the state.

Awka South 1 representative, Hon. Nnamdi Okafor dwelled more on the effects of the level of security on the economy of the state, said, “Without security, business cannot strive. The security in Anambra has made so many industries and organizations to relocate their head offices to Anambra state. This has led to the creation of jobs for the teaming populace”.
