The Honourable Commissioner of the Plateau State Ministry of Lands and Survey, Mr. Peter Gai, has disclosed that there were several loopholes found in the administration of the Ministry, after deliberate efforts were put in to sanitize the Ministry for more digital, efficient, and effective performance, immediately he resumed office.

The Commissioner who spoke in a press briefing today, at the NUJ Press Center, Jos, while giving update on the achievements of the Ministry in the past One Year said, the past administration in the state created a system where the manual and the digital processes ran at the same time, thereby creating complications.

PLATEAU: WRAPA VOLUNTEER GROUP SETS STRATEGIES TO INCREASE MEMBERSHIP, TO ENHANCE THE PROTECTION OF WOMEN, AND GIRLS’ RIGHTS

Women’s Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA) Volunteer Group has already started operating in Plateau State.

The 20 members of the group, who were carefully selected are expected to intensify the efforts of WRAPA in advancing Women’s Rights protection, and empowerment in the grass-roots communities in Plateau State.

The decision to replicate the Volunteer Group in the grass-root communities in Plateau State was taken today by the 20 selected Volunteers, at a One-Day Step-Down Training in Jos South-Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State, after extensively deliberating on ways to assist WRAPA fortify its organizational resilience, drive to cause an impactful change in safeguarding the rights of women and girls and the objective of launching the Volunteer Corps in the state.

It is no longer news that, Edward Gyang Pwajok (SAN) (doing business in the name and style of Pwajok, Ikwoe & Co) has dragged, Hon. Prince Vincent Venman Bulus, a House of Representatives Member at the Lower Chambers of the National Assembly, representing Langtang-North and Langtang-South Federal Constituency of Plateau State for allegedly refusing to pay him his Unpaid Professional Legal Fee.

You would recall that REALITY had reported that, Hon. Vincent, had denied responsibility for the payment of the Professional Fee, but had rather, shifted the responsibility to the Plateau State APC chapter in his reply on his official letter headed paper, dated 5^th June 2024, to the Bill of Charges and Demand Notice sent to him by Pwajok.

What is untold to the general public is the fact that, Hon. Pwajok (SAN) had personally written a letter, dated 11^th June 2024, to confirm the alleged position of Hon. Bulus.

Plateau State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has dragged Governor Caleb Mutfwang (Esq) to the Plateau State High Court, challenging the 2021 Local Government elections held on 9^th October 2021.

Other Defendants on the face of the filed processes are the Attorney-General of the State and the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC).

The suit filed by way of Originating Summons is brought pursuant to Order 5 Rule 4 of the Plateau State High Court (Civil Procedure Rules 2020 and Section 6(6), 1, 17 (2,a), 40 and 42 (1, a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of  Nasarawa State has described the death of the Program Manager of the State’s Agricultural Development Program, Mr. Emmanuel Alanana, alongside a Director in the organization, Dr. Rabiu Abdul, as painful and a great loss to the state.

The Governor, who made his feelings known during a sympathy visit to the resident of the late Program Manager on Monday, recalled his recent assignment with the late Alanana in India, in which he participated in the meetings and engagements with his expertise and valuable contributions in the discussions.

Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) has maintained that the forthcoming Local Government (LG) elections is still fixed for 9^th October 2024, after reviewing the impact of the ongoing Nationwide Protest in the country.

The Commission’s Chairman, Mr. Plangji Daniel Cishak in a press briefing at its Headquarters today, further disclosed that the Commission has however, made a few adjustments to the activities in the build-up to the elections.

The Chairman flanked by other members of the Commission said, “You will recall that last month precisely, on the 10^th of July, I addressed a press briefing here on the release of election timetable preparatory to the 9^th October Local Government Elections.

Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, the National President of Berom Youths’ Moulder-Association, over 20 armed Fulanis attacked Lwa in Bachi District, Riyom Local Government Area (LGA), leaving Four (4) persons with varying degrees of injuries.

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has assured Civil Servants in the state that the implementation of the newly approved Seventy Thousand (#70, 000) Minimum Wage is not negotiable.

Governor Sule, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Mr. Peter Ahemba said, “All necessary arrangements have been put in place in order to ensure the immediate implementation of the new wage for workers”.
