Although the hearing of the Direct Criminal Case, No: JMMC/DCR/201/2024, filed by one Huzaifa Ibrahim Aliyu, against one Aliyu Ibrahim Aliyu, at the Senior District Court of Plateau State, sitting at Main Market 4 was stalled today, as the Court could not sit for reasons yet to be made known to Journalists who were there to witness the proceedings, sympathizers for the Defendants carrying placards, with various inscriptions in their hundreds were in Court to witness the proceedings and show support for them.

The hearing of the Direct Criminal Case, No: JMMC/DCR/201/2024, filed by one Huzaifa Ibrahim Aliyu, against one Aliyu Ibrahim Aliyu, at the Senior District Court of Plateau State, sitting at Main Market 4 was stalled today, as the Court could not sit for reasons yet to be made known to Journalists who were there to witness the proceedings.

The premises of the Court was filled to its brim as a huge crowd of sympathizers of the Defendants came to witness the proceedings, carrying placards with various inscriptions.

REALITY, however, gathered that the matter has been further adjourned to the 5^th of February 2025.

From the face of the Motion on Notice filed by Huzaifa, other Defendants in the matter are: Badaru Nuhu, Umar Aliyu, Auwal , Yahaya and Abubakar Yakubu (a. k. a. Bobby).

Journalist Alfred Saiki has emerged as the Plateau State Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

He merged as Chairman, unopposed, at the Association’s Elective Congress on Thursday, 21^st November 2024, at Mees Palace in Jos South Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.

The Plateau State Local Government Election Trial Tribunal has held its inaugural sitting at the State Court in West of Mines in Jos-North Local Government Area (LGA) today, with several Petitioners, Respondents, and Counsels in attendance from all the NBA Branches in the state.

Addressing the Counsels, Respondents and Petitioners in his remarks during the sitting, Mr. Zakkah Dung, the Chairman of the Tribunal Panel, promised to treat every Petition filed on its merit.

Dung also noted that they were on Oath as members of the Tribunal to ensure justice and that is what the panel would adhere to prove that “the judiciary is indeed the last hope of the common man”.

Plateau State Gender and Equal Opportunity Commission has began to talk tough to Law violators as it celebrates its One Year Anniversary amidst successes.

EDITORIAL: THE NEED FOR NIGERIANS TO CONTINUE PRAYERS FOR PROF. NENTAWE YILWATDA, AS MINISTER OF HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS AND POVERTY REDUCTION

Nigerian as a country has within the past Nine (9) years acquired a very bad image, as it is been acknowledged and referred to as the POVERTY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD.  

The country has on its own, and without a war, mismanaged its citizens through the condemnable attitudes of its leaders, who may have allowed the existence of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in their very own communities, villages, Local Governments or State.

Although these IDPs’ existence across the country are mostly attributable to many yet to be control factors, like; Land grabbing, Expansionists’ ideas, Religion, among others, the fact still remains that the concern for these IDPs is now a National Responsibility as it stands.

The number one effect of the existence of these IDPs is the low farming and the poor level of its output, as the country’s population has now exceeded the level of food available—INFLATION

The office of a Minister in Nigeria is not for show or funfair especially, since the office is usually engulfed and structured to exhibit and cover huge responsibilities aimed at achieving its set objectives to Nigerians and Nigeria.

The office of the Minister is not a state affair that bears tribal and age mate interests as colour. A Ministry is for the entire Nigerians, who only want to see the outputs from the retinue of offices that make up the Ministry.

PLATEAU LGC ELECTIONS TRIAL TRIBUNAL: THE BREAKDOWN OF COUNCILLORSHIP PETITIONS

After the conduct of the Plateau State Local Government Council (LGC) elections, 19 petitions, 9 from Wase, 5 from Shandam, 3 from Riyom, 1 from Jos-North, and One from Mangu Local Government Areas (LGAs), have already hit the table of the Plateau State Elections Trial Tribunal, with most coming from Shandam Local Government Area.

The Petitions from Shandam Local Government Area (LGA) are mostly filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC). REALITY can authoritatively state.

The Petitions filed by the APC candidates are challenging the victories of the candidates of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Shandam.

PLATEAU: 3 KILLED AGAIN, IN BARKIN LADI. BEROM YOUTHS CRY OUT, CALL FOR A CRACKDOWN ON KILLER-MILITANTS

Following the killing of three (3) promising Berom Youths, on the 6^th of November, at about 10. 00am, again in BarkinLadi Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State, the Berom Youths have come out strongly to condemn the killings as they call on security operatives to crackdown on the roving Killer-Militants that have alleged taken over the villages of communities in the Local Government.

According to a Press Release signed by Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, the National President of Berom Youths Moulder-Association, dated 7^th November 2024, the names of the 3 Youths that were killed on the 6^th of November 2024 are:

1. Mr. Chollom Daniel, aged 27

2. Mr. Jang Joseph, aged 21

3. Mr. Richard Dapel, aged 18,

According to the release, “They were allegedly gruesomely murdered and 2 others injured, while carrying on their legitimate business at about 10:00am of 6^th November 2024 is hereby condemned in its entirety”.  

PLATEAU LGC ELECTIONS: BREAKING: APC CHALLENGING ONLY ONE CHAIRMANSHIP RESULT IN THE 17 LGCs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is challenging only one Chairmanship result in the elections conducted by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) on the 9^th of October 2024, at the Plateau State Election Tribunal. REALITY can authoritatively state.

The party is however, challenging some Councillorship results in Shandam and Wase Local Government Areas (LGAs), while the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is challenging one Councillorship seat in Mangu.

The Suit, No: PL5/J612/2024, filed by Hon. Danjuma Falke and Hon. Bala Malele and currently challenging why their names were substituted in the list of the Executives in the Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) despite being selected and nominated by the Hausa Community in Jos North.

Nasarawa State Government has disclosed that contrary to speculations, the recent consensus that led to the emergence of APC Chairmanship candidates in last Saturday's Local Government Council (LGC) Elections in the state has nothing to do with religion.

The State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, who made this disclosure and clarification during his Monthly Media Briefing in Lafia today, Tuesday, explained that all the Chairmanship candidates of the APC were carefully picked by stake holders of the party in their respective Local Government Areas (LGAs).

NASARAWA STATE LGC ELECTIONS: APC WINS ALL 13 CHAIRMANSHIP SEATS, OTHERS

The APC in Nasarawa State has won all the Thirteen Local Government Council (LGC) Chairmanship positions in the elections conducted on Saturday by the State’s Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC).

Also, out of the 147 Councillorship positions, the APC won 140 seats, while the Zenith and SDP parties shared the remaining seven Councillorship positions.

EDITORIAL: THE NEED TO CAUSE UNITY AMONG PLATEAU POLITICIANS NOW THAT PROF. NENTAWE YILWATDA IS APPOINTED

It is a fact to state that, for over 16 months, the presence of Plateau State, and its citizens have not been felt nor heard at the round table of the National Executive Council (NEC), and that within this period under review, the people of Plateau State have used various possible platforms to draw the attention of President Bola A. Tinubu to this.

Within the last few days, these out cries have been looked into and an appointee has emerged for Plateau State in the person of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who is expected to head the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

It is safe to say at this point that the Humanitarian and Poverty reduction Ministry is not all about bringing relief materials to areas affected by terrorists attacks, Human or Natural disasters, but it would be a technology driven Ministry, where data of Nigerians especially, the vulnerable are collated and intervention are carried out directly to the beneficiaries.
