EDITORIAL: PROF. NENTAWE, CONGRATULATIONS. YOU PLACED MERIT FIRST TO PICK YOUR PERSONAL ASSISTANT (PA). THIS MUST BE EMULATED

A working team can easily be assessed by its composition. All jobs are time bound and are all aimed at certain targets, goals and objects. It is therefore a necessary need to bring together, with same cognitive level, to arrive at its projected end results.

The office of a Minister in Nigeria is not for show or funfair especially, since the office is usually engulfed and structured to exhibit and cover huge responsibilities aimed at achieving its set objectives to Nigerians and Nigeria.

The office of the Minister is not a state affair that bears tribal and age mate interests as colour. A Ministry is for the entire Nigerians, who only want to see the outputs from the retinue of offices that make up the Ministry.

It is a fact that, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the new Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction is not new to these requirement, owing to his experiences to achieve success hence, his recent appointment of Mr. Kelvin Nedim Pankshin, as his Personal Assistant (PA) is highly commendable.

Although the title “Personal Assistant” (PA) has never in the past been ascribed to Engr. Kelvin, he has always been behind the screen for Prof. Nentawe.

 

ENGR. KELVIN NEDIM ON DUTY

He has always been the last man that closes his eyes after the crowd may have left, during and after the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaigns in 2023 in Plateau State.

After the trial of the governorship Petition at the Supreme Court, between Prof. Nentawe and the incumbent Governor of Plateau State, Engr. Kelvin, rather than reduce in his loyalty in order to present an under performance character, he rather developed and improved on his job with better improved methodology.

From the mirror, it would be seen how, Engr. Kelvin displayed commitment and travels to cover his bits from Abuja to Lagos and From Abuja to Plateau.

We congratulate Engr. Kelvin Nedim Pankshin on his appointment and also congratulate Prof. Nentawe for the Right Choice.

We call on leaders to emulate this attitude in picking their appointees by putting the needs of the people and the capacity of their appointees side by side in the course of assessment, irrespective of where they come from.
