NASARAWA: JUST IN: PHOENIX UNIVERSITY AGWADA, TO MATRICUATE 260 STUDENTS NEXT WEEK, SCHOOL ACKNOWLEDGES GOV. SULE’S SUPPORT

Phoenix University Agwada in Kokona Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State is to matriculate its first set of 260 students on Monday, next week.  

You would recall that Phoenix University is the first private University established in Nasarawa State.

The pioneer Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Bala disclosed this at a press briefing held at the institution in Agwada, yesterday.

The Vice Chancellor explained that the new students are admitted into various courses across the faculties of Computer Science, Applied Science, Agriculture, Social Sciences, and Management, among others.

Prof. Bala, further stated that the new University is currently located at its permanent site in Agwada, from its liaison office in Keffi.

He said principal officers of the University have since been inaugurated, adding that lectures have since commenced.

Prof. Bala disclosed that the University has appointed prominent figures into key positions, adding that, Dr. Abdullahi Adamu, who doubles as the Turakin  Keffi, has been  appointed the  BoT Chairman of the University.

According to him, the BoT members includes, Prof. Isa Ibrahim Ali Pantami, Dr. Faisal Shu’aib, and Prof. Sa’adu Hassan Liman.

He said, “The Governing Council is being chaired by Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, former Chief of Staff to former President Muhammadu Buhari”.

Professor Bala was full of praises to the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for his support to the growth of the University with specific reference to the award of scholarships to 92 indigenes and the reconstruction of over 40 kilometer Agwada road.
