The APC in Nasarawa State has won all the Thirteen Local Government Council (LGC) Chairmanship positions in the elections conducted on Saturday by the State’s Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC).
Also, out of the 147 Councillorship positions, the APC won 140 seats, while the Zenith and SDP parties shared the remaining seven Councillorship positions.
It would be recalled that the main opposition political party in the State, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), had earlier announced its withdrawal from the race for fear of lack of transparency in the whole process.
Declaring the results at the state Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) office on Sunday, Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Ayuba Wandai, explained that the whole exercise was free, fair and transparent.
Barrister Waidai commended the state Governor, Members of the State Assembly for creating an enabling environment for the Commission to conduct the election.
The Commission’s Chairman was also full of praises to the Law enforcement agencies and Media practitioners in the state, for their cooperation and support for the Commission during and after the elections.
