PLATEAU: BREAKING: HEARING OF THE DIRECT CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED BY HUZAIFA IBRAHIM, AGAINST ALIYU IBRAHIM ALIYU & 5 OTHERS, STALLED, ADJOURNED TO FEBRUARY

 By: Amb. Valentine Adese (JP),

The hearing of the Direct Criminal Case, No: JMMC/DCR/201/2024, filed by one Huzaifa Ibrahim Aliyu, against one Aliyu Ibrahim Aliyu, at the Senior District Court of Plateau State, sitting at Main Market 4 was stalled today, as the Court could not sit for reasons yet to be made known to Journalists who were there to witness the proceedings.

The premises of the Court was filled to its brim as a huge crowd of sympathizers of the Defendants came to witness the proceedings, carrying placards with various inscriptions.

REALITY, however, gathered that the matter has been further adjourned to the 5th of February 2025.

From the face of the Motion on Notice filed by Huzaifa, other Defendants in the matter are: Badaru Nuhu, Umar Aliyu, Auwal , Yahaya and Abubakar Yakubu (a. k. a. Bobby).

The Motion on Notice is seeking the Court to grant an Order for Interlocutory Injunction, restraining the Defendants by themselves, privies or anybody acting on their behalves from demarcating, selling, and further trespassing on the Applicant’s piece of land at Old Legislative quarters, Bauchi Ring Road Jos, which he bought and is in possession of pending the determination of the substantive case, and any other Order that the Court may deem fit to make in the circumstances.

However, while speaking to Journalists in an on-the-spot interview, the Counsel to the Defendants, Lawrence Anyia (Esq), said he was in Court because of the case filed by Ibrahim against the Defendants.

Without Prejudice, Lawrence (Esq), told inquisitive Journalists that the matter in Court is concerning a piece of land that Huzaifa said he had allocation papers for at the Old Legislative Quarters in Jos.

Lawrence (Esq), claimed that his Client had negotiated for the purchase of the piece of land from Huzaifa and they agreed for N55 Million and that his Client has already paid N53 Million.

In part, Lawrence Anyia (Esq), added that “Thereafter, our Client said before he would pay the remaining balance, he needed the allocation papers, which Mr. Huzaifa presented to him to be authenticated. He got a Lawyer (I wouldn’t mention names), who said he did a search and that the allocation papers are authentic. Pursuant to which they now wrote to JMDB for permission to commence development. While that was going on, our Client still insisted that he needed to be sure that what he paid for is authentic. When the authenticity was not forthcoming, he reported the matter to the Police, for the Police to help him investigate.

“The Police are still investigating and then Huzaifa now took out this Direct Criminal Complaint, alleging a lot of offenses that he was Criminally Defamed, Intimidated, Trespass on the land, and so many others.

“Today is the first day the matter ought to have come up for arraignment on the Direct Criminal Case that is filed by Huzaifa. But, unfortunately, as you can see the Court is not sitting.

“Because of the crowd that have come in to the premises of the Court in sympathy of our Client I decided to quickly call on all of them and addressed them to go back to their homes peacefully, making them know that we came here for Justice, to defend our Client on the Direct Criminal Complaint, and not Politics”.
