PLATEAU: BRIBERY CONTROVERSY BETWEEN JMDB, PARK & PAY AGENCIES: TRADERS SUFFER SHOP BREAK AND LOOTING AT RWANG PAM STREET

Some shops at Rwang Pam street, in Jos city, Plateau State, have been destroyed by an unknown agency of the Plateau State Government and their contents looted by those who enforced the destruction.

The traders and artisans only came this morning Thursday, 3rd June, 2021, to find that their shops have been destroyed and their contents looted.

In an interview with some of the victims, REALITY was told that there was already an existing controversy between Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) and the “Park and Pay” agencies of the Plateau State Government on who has the authority to approve the space for the traders and artisans to build the shops a the spot.

According to investigation, the victims may have already been duped, as they have paid some principal officers of both agencies for the spaces before the said controversy.

REALITY is further told that, the agencies despite the height of the debate of who has the legitimate authority, sent representative for negotiation yesterday and the negotiations lasted till closing hours.

“We are therefore surprised that, they came in the dead of the night to commence this destruction and looting of our wears and other items”.
