DOGARA’S QUEST FOR RELEVANCE THROUGH DESPICABLE RECIDIVISM IS AN ATTEMPT TO REINVENT HIMSELF. MR. YAKUBU DATI, REPLIES (READ, UNEDITED)

Stripped of relevance due to several political misadventures, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, cuts the picture of a twerp clutching at straws.

That the former Speaker is going down in a puddle he dug for himself is not surprising, but that he has the nerve to inspissate his descent into infamy with insults and expletives on respected leaders in the country like Governor Simon Lalong is unfortunate.

When Dogara along with former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Babachir Lawal, started stoking the embers of a religious war through their selfish interpretation of the Tinubu/ Shettima APC Presidential ticket, lots of well meaning individuals had tried to call them to order by showing them the negative implications of embarking on that course, but they continued until Dogara’s partner, Babachir revealed their true intentions, which was that, they expected the party to call and negotiate with them.

Even as the party tries to ignore their rants, Dogara has now resorted to name-calling on the presumption that, that will accord his desperation a modicum of relevance, while in truth it only exposes his hollowness and shameless mannerism.

For someone, who calls himself an elephant (you may wish to pause and laugh) there is evidence that, he needs some education in governance otherwise, he wouldn’t have been making some of the unfortunate comments being attributed to him.

He says for example that, he has never spoken ill of Governor Simon Lalong, but only attacks the Tinubu/Shettima ticket and that he has told the Governor to only do his job without inviting him to join issues with him.

For someone, who has held the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, this is a crass display of ignorance in the workings of party politics.

It is unfortunate that, Dogara does not understand that, as the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong embodies the campaign and owes it as a duty to apply his best to see that the ticket wins in the forthcoming general elections due to the benefits derivable from the vision of the leaders presented by the APC.

To try to befuddle the minds of Nigerians with lies borne out of self inflicted hatred against this vision and insist that, he has not said anything negative about the Governor is the worst form of delusion.

With the zeal and patriotism of Lalong and the belief he has in the ability of the Tinub/ Shettima ticket to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigeria as they have done in the past, any attempt to cast aspersions on that ticket is worse than speaking ill of an individual and can only be equated with an economic saboteur because, trying to frustrate their chance is similar to jeopardizing the future of Nigeria!

But, that is not even the most despicable thing about the canard the former Speaker wrote. The most bizarre effrontery in that so called rejoinder is that, Dogara of all people would call another a coward.

This is the same Dogara under whose tenure as Speaker, the term ‘budget padding’ found its way into parliamentary lexicon.

This is the same Dogara that couldn’t confront the issues raised by his accusers in the budget padding saga, but chose to treat the matter in the most pusillanimous way by sending the member, who raised the issue on suspension just to avoid scrutiny, which thankfully, was upturned by the Courts because of its illegality and breach of parliamentary proceedings.

This is the same Dogara that, chickened out when his dubious plan to run as Speaker on a minority platform in the current Assembly was exposed and knowing he cannot square up with the more formidable Femi Gbajabiamila in a straight and open contest, tucked his tail between his legs and quietly stepped aside.

He dodged because, he saw it was going to be a straight fight unlike in 2015 when he took advantage of what was happening at the Senate to escape scrutiny.

This is the same Dogara that, several times could not contest the primaries of his parties, but had to change platforms and beg for tickets in opposition parties just to avoid disgrace and now claiming to be brave.

If it is true that, Plateau under Lalong has suffered maladministration, oppression and nepotism in the last Seven (7) years as he alleges, then why is Dogara always running away to Jos, Plateau State, when he is out of Abuja?

Is it not because, Lalong has made Jos more peaceful and secured than Dogara’s natal area where the former Speaker had made volatile by his several intrusions into the local politics of the area where he wants to be the one to determine, who becomes councilor, district head and local government chairman all at the same time and does not accord respect to the elders in that area?

Does Dogara think that, people have forgotten how he was indicted in the mayhem that engulfed his constituency, which led to the revocation of the traditional title of Jakadan Bauchi by the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu in January?

Is it not a shame that, a person who has held such a high position in Nigeria would choose the path of infamy and brigandage by instigating a crisis of that magnitude in which many were injured, more than ten houses razed and the convoys of the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass attacked?

As further proof of his lack of tact and tolerance, the former Speaker did not sympathize nor show any sign of remorse towards the quantum of loss and over what happened to their Majesties. This unfortunately is the person trying to pontificate on good governance.

Dogara can claim that, Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa-Balewa Federal Constituency has been turned into a massive construction site, but is inane to assume people do not know it is because of the intervention of the federal and Bauchi State governments that the three local government areas in the constituency have benefited that much.

Available records show that, the constituency would have benefitted even more from the Buhari administration were it not for the tomfoolery of Dogara, who pads budget on one hand and fights the state government on the other and does not want any serious intervention in the constituency unless, his hands are greased.

Only recently, the Dogara, who claims to be popular in his constituency had to run to the Inspector General of Police for protection from his constituents. It bears restating that, if not that Lalong has made Jos secured and peaceful for citizens where would he have ran to?

Lalong cannot even be measured on the same scale with Dogara, as far as, politics is concerned. Dogara belongs to the featherweight category in politics, while Lalong is a heavyweight champion.

To start with, Lalong has never lost an election and is the only House of Assembly member that survived an attempt to recall him by no less a force than the presidency, thereby establishing firmly that he is on ground and well loved by his people.

This, even the rest of the country appreciated as his colleagues Speakers then, made him the Chairman of Conference of Speakers and eight (8) good years after leaving the House of Assembly, Lalong became a Governor by defeating a ruling party in the state.

As if that is not enough, he is now the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum (NGF) which in geographical equivalence represents the old Northern Region!

You cannot compare this with winning three local governments due to chicanery.

While, Dogara may try to hoodwink people that he willingly gave up the Constituency seat ahead of 2023, those who know are aware that, he is only doing so because he has exhausted his tricks hence, forced to throw in the towel after seeing the handwriting clearly on the wall that he stands no chance of prostituting from one party to the other to win again.

You cannot be accused of being behind the attack on respected personalities like the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass and think you can survive politically in that terrain.

That is why, he is angry that he was not chosen as either Deputy National Chairman North of the APC, nor as the running mate to Tinubu.

One cannot help, but gasp at the veiled reference to a world renowned Professor from Bogoro as an ‘ant’ by Dogara. To me, that is the height of disrespect to one of the best brains in that area and for someone like Dogara to refer to that Professor, as an ant, all I can say is that, posterity will judge.

This is the same person that made his mark as an academic long before Dogara knew what it means to wear a wig and who mobilized resources to see him advance in politics. It is the height of ingratitude to call him an ant.

It is for this same hubris and lack of respect for elders and constituted authority that, Dogara at one time or the other fell out with Governors Isa Yuguda, MA Abubakar and now with Bala Mohammed.

He runs to Jos for succor when his bellicosity and irreverence makes it difficult for him to cohabit with leaders and decent citizens in his own state, but runs to Plateau to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and infrastructure that a clear headed leader has provided.

It seems being vacuous and empty are not enough drawbacks for Dogara, as he comes with the added burden of bringing reproach to any administration he identifies with due to his selfishness and disloyalty to collective causes that it has become safe for each administration in his state in order to give him a wide berth, if it to achieve success. That is why he is always oscillating between layers and unable to have a foothold anywhere.

Dogara, for want of things to say also claimed that, Lalong supported another candidate in the APC presidential primary. This also speaks of his lack of understanding of party politics, which makes it possible for parties to identify the best among them and to collapse all structures under one for effective campaign once primaries are over.

That Lalong accepted to serve as the DG of the campaign council of the party is due to his understanding of this basic principle and out of loyalty to the party and to Nigeria because he believes that, the duo of Tinubu and Shettima are better placed than the candidates of the other parties to provide quality leadership and good governance to Nigeria.

Dogara can equally not compare himself with Shettima, who won elections to become governor of Borno State twice and the third time as a senator hence, should stop whining that he would have been a better choice.

The question is, if Tinubu had picked Dogara as running mate, what would the latter be bringing to the table?

What value would he have added to the ticket when he has become a persona non grata even in his local government that he has to run to the IGP for protection.

Probably, it is the bags of rice and cartons of noodles that he hid in his house in Jos, until Endsars protesters forced the residence cum warehouse open that he would be contributing to the election.

If, Dogara has evidence that Lalong said anything against Tinubu during the primary it should not be from the delegates that he (Dogara) confessed to have hosted. Who knows, if the purpose of hosting them was to put words in their mouth so as to use it as a tool of blackmail?

Again, Dogara tried to blame the invasion of his house by Endsars protesters on Lalong. He thinks people are not aware how his neighbors have confessed that, for several years they’ve been witnessing how he has been bringing and hoarding trailer loads of rice, semovita and cartons of noodles meant for his Constituency.

Why will Lalong not accept to be DG? Is everyone expected to be a self serving bigot like Dogara, who only sees Nigeria from the prism of stomach and lust for power?

The story of Dogara and Lalong in the APC can be equated with, the situation that Mordecai and Haman were in the Bible.

Mordecai has been doing things to protect the king and when the king found out, he asked, what can be done to this man and Haman thinking he was the one being spoken of asked that he should be decorated with honours.

While, Dogara has been working to undermine the APC and left the party treacherously on the eve of the 2019 elections, Lalong has never left, but has continued to work for the growth of the APC.

Dogara only came back when he saw that, the APC may likely pick a northern Christian as running mate to Tinubu.

Hence, when Tinubu was looking for someone who has the capacity to enact on a national scale what he had done in his state to coordinate his campaign, the name of Lalong came up.

Since then, Dogara has not been able to sleep and is subtly with his partner, Babachir, asking that they should be called for reconciliation. This is shameless!

Is this the kind of person that one will engage in a public debate?

We will continue to expose those fables they concoct to hoodwink members of the public, but suffice it to say that, since Dogara left the House of Representatives, no one has heard of budget padding again, meaning, it was exclusive to his method of running the House

Shamelessly, Dogara is never a man that dares, he is one that balks. He does not have balls, but sees himself as a ball to be tossed by others hoping it would land him in a position to sulk and continue his treachery.

He is worse than Brutus and Judas combined, at least those ones had the gumption to own up to their betrayals, but Dogara even when caught with his hands in the cookie jar always tries to make excuses.

Shame!!!

PLATEAU: PRO-ATIKU’S 2023 AMBITION GROUP, FIGHTING OTHERS WITHOUT A POLITICAL WAR

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

Plateau State like many other states in the federation is already experiencing the known political fever and politicians have started realigning and strategizing to achieve their peak, before, during and after the 2023 general elections.

The most catching drama in the state currently is the pursuit to achieve the ambition of the former Vice President of Nigeria, Ahaji Atiku Abubakar.

The pursuit and support for Atiku has introduced a yet to be explained infighting within and outside the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While the Pro-Atiku group have kick started a “non-existing political war” within the PDP, their major enemy seems to be the former Governor of the State, Sen. Jonah David Jang, who recently joined other concerned PDP stakeholders to call for the resignation of the National Chairman of the Party, Ayu.

Despite the fact that, Sen. Jang had publicly stated that, his joining and pulling out of the Presidential Campaign Council, aimed to project Atiku to the nation, as fit and proper person for the Presidential seat, the Pro-Atiku in the state seem to have given a deaf ear to that, as they questioned Sen. Jang’s boldness to speak at all.

To create a proper stage for the non-political war, the Pro-Atiku group has engaged other political party members, some elders in the state, especially, those who may have beef with Sen. Jang, in order to gather support for their action.

Names like, Prof. Shedrack Best, Hon. Timothy Golu, Amb. Yahaya Kwande, have emerged to be part and temporary leaders of the meetings creating the group.

In their various meetings and press briefings, this group has reiterated that, Sen. Jang’s withdrawal from the Presidential Council was personal and not the position of the Plateau state chapter of the PDP and its members. A position replicating what Jang has maintained.

However, this action is creating more questions that may demand answers from the Pro-Atiku group in the state according to Pundits and others, who spoke to this Newspaper.

In the views of a Director of the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Comrade Steve Aluko Daniel in an exclusive interview on the development, he questioned what Amb. Yahaya Kwande was intervening for in an assumed in house political disagreement of the PDP.

He also questioned why those, who have colluded to form the opinion of supporting Atiku, did not reach out to Sen. Jang to personally ask him why he pulled out from the Council, but rather chose to surprise him by joining hands with Amb. Yahay Kwande, a perceived rival of Jang and a staunch friend of Atiku Abubakar.

Emmanuel Nentawe, a politician from Pankshin Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State also, in an exclusive interview, urged those fighting a non-existing political war with Sen. Jonah Jang, to desist, as they cannot show their political value to make Atiku win in the state when the time comes.

Mr. Emmanuel said, those from the central zone, who lost in the PDP governorship primary in the state, seems to have dominated the Pro-Atiku movement and it directly shows that, their grievances of not becoming the governorship candidate of the PDP, may be at the center of it all.

Pundits, who spoke to REALITY and being observers of the political developments in the state, have urged the members of the Pro-Atiku group to tell Atiku their true capacity to win election for him even in their Wards. They opined that, if they have political pull as they may have been exhibiting to Atiku, they should show the political office the PDP has won in the central zone and what voting capacity exist within the zone that they want to create a face-off between Atiku and Jang.

Pundits also questioned the Pro-Atiku group now in the state to explain when Baba Yahaya Kwande moved from the APC to the PDP that he can now preside over a meeting of the party. They also want to know when he resigned and when the State Exco ratified his re-admission into the state chapter from known and established processes.

From close investigation, REALITY CAN AUTHORITATIVELY state that, the know political leaders of the PDP in the state have never been in attendance in the various meetings called by the group nor has the state PDP Exco and its leadership.

TO BE CONTINUED..WHY OTHER POLITICAL PARTIES OPERATING IN PLATEAU STATE, WANT THE DISAGREEMENTS IN THE PDP TO CONTINUE.

PLATEAU: NON-INDIGENES, WORRIED OVER PROF. BEST’S “SILENCE ORDER” TO THE OWNER OF JAYFM RADIO JOS—HE SHOULD RETRACT IT—CLO

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

The worries in Plateau State over the comments and order by Prof. Shedrack Best that, a Non-Indigene should remain silent on issues that concerns Plateau State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in the state has taken a new dimension as concerned citizens are calling on him to retract it and apologies.

Those, who spoke on Valreality Radio, an online platform (valrealityradio.live) today, 27/09/22, were of the opinion that, his comments being from his heart, may also have being the reason why God refused to make him the governorship candidate of the PDP.

On the part of the Civil Society, a Director with the Civil Liberty Organization (CLO), Comrade Steve Alukodaniel, viewed the comment of Prof. Best, urging Mr. Clinton Garuba to remain silent in the face of the political developments in the state and the nation at large because he is not from Plateau State, as overreaching.

He called on Prof. Best, whom he claimed to be his long time friend to retract the statement as meanings could be read to it.

Comrade Steve said, “Given the respect I have for the former SSG, Prof. Best and been our good friend that we have on the Plateau, I think he went a bit too far on the issue and response he gave to Mr. Clinton Garuba, the Owner of Jayfm Radio Station in Jos.

“Especially, on the issues of the PDP, the Polity and the Atiku factor, his support and those not in support of him. I think he went too far, frankly!

“I respect him as an erudite scholar, one of our teacher, mentor and instructor in the Peace Work on the Plateau and knowing that he was a former Secretary to the Plateau State Government (SSG). He went too far!

“His comments and response have a huge implication when people of such political and educational status, come out openly to make such kind of statement. It is open to various angles of interpretation and could be misread.

“In fact, a lot of people have had cause to raise the issue with some of us that are close to Prof. Best. I think and feel that is not the best of the best of him that I know.

“We have met on different platforms in both, Television and Radio programs, where we talked about setting agenda for Plateau State and the nation at large and he had played his part credibly.

However, with reference to his current statement, it has taken a steam out of him and I know wherever he is now he would be having a rethink about what he said because, he is a voice on the Plateau and people can easily follow this type of comments and before you know, the state would be plunged into another round of blood spilling. This is not what the people of Plateau State need now!

And to also say that he is leading a Pro-Atiku stand, he can also be misread to mean that, that is what his candidate represents and in extension, his political party, the PDP.

It is very important that, if he can make a retraction, it would be better, otherwise….(sic)

You would recall that the last time the PDP Presidential candidate was in Plateau, he had a rough time with Journalists in the state and now, Journalists are invited by his Pro-supporters in the state. This also, could be misread whether this is the voice of Jacob and the hands of Esau.

If you also look at the Presidential Primary of the PDP that brought Atiku, it has continued to be with contentions within the party. North vs South, the Wike group and the rest of it.

“It would have been better, if he had used a better language because, if it is not properly managed, no matter what goes into the coming elections and after, it would affect a lot of things and even the supporters of Atiku would also look at it as the voice of Atiku, especially the non-indigenes in the state and may no longer be willing to vote for Atiku.

“Because, this means that, when Atiku wins, the Non-Indigenes may not be guaranteed their stay in the state or elsewhere.

“Secondly, we are in an era where everybody is pushing for inclusiveness and Atiku and the PDP have come out clear to write damaging reports on why APC should not have gone on the religious track of a Muslim/Muslim ticket. So, this comment could be reinforcing what Atiku stands for or against in challenging the APC. His comment is giving a red flag, which is totally uncalled for.

If you look at Plateau State from all sectors, especially, the economic sector, I am sure you cannot take away the non-indigenes in the state. You cannot!

“Non-indigenes in the state have a huge voting population, economically, they are doing well in some areas, politically, they are doing well and one cannot talk about PDP, among other political parties without the non-indigenes in the state.

So, telling someone like Mr. Garuba, the owner of Jayfm in the state, not to contribute to the happenings in PDP and the state is totally uncalled for!

You would recall that, REALITY had reported that, the political differences being expressed in the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the candidature and Presidential bid of the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has gone dirty and is now beclouded with pettiness and small mindedness, as Prof. Shedrack Best, (a then Secretary of the State Government (SSG) under Sen. Jonah Jang’s administration) is asking an Investor and a Non-Indigene in the state, to leave and go back to his state for supporting Sen. Jonah David Jang’s idea of joining others to pull out of the Atiku’s campaign, if the issues rocking the party are not addressed.

ATIKU’S PRESIDENTIAL BID: PROF. SHEDRACK BEST, URGES THE OWNER OF JAYFM, A NONE INDIGENE TO LEAVE THE STATE FOR SUPPORTING SEN. JANG

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

The political differences being expressed in the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the candidature and Presidential bid of the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has gone dirty and is now beclouded with pettiness and small mindedness, as Prof.

You would recall that, REALITY had reported that, a former Secretary to the Plateau State Government (SSG), Prof. Shedrack Best has been taken to the cleaners and re-schooled more on the history and tradition of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with Senator Jonah David Jang, as one of the Founding Fathers.

In a rejoinder signed by, Mr. Clinton Garuba, the Media Consultant to Sen. Jonah David Jang, who also doubles, as the owner of Jayfm Radio Station in Jos, Prof. Best and his “Unknown Stakeholders” are advised not to use Sen. Jonah Jang, as a launching pad, but to go ahead and pursue their interest and support for the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and his presidential drive.

According to the rejoinder, Prof. Best was reminded that, of all people, he should know that, “in the pursuit of truth, Jang is always prepared to tow the lonely path”.

The rejoinder signed by Mr. Clinton Garuba, in his show of surprise and shock, over a purported publication, allegedly signed by its Protem Secretary, Prof. Best, tagged: “PDP Stakeholders, Disowned Sen (Dr) Jonah David Jang”, in part explained that, “Our attention has been drawn to a publication purportedly issued by a certain unknown group, dubbed Plateau for Atiku group and signed by its Protem Secretary, Prof. Shedrack Best.

“The group in the said publication alleged that, Plateau PDP Stakeholders disowned, Sen (Dr) Jonah David Jang for asking the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu to resign.

“Perhaps, it is important to school this said group, which has arrogated to itself the noble position of Stakeholders, which it indeed is not, of the dynamics of the politics of the PDP to which they are latter-day entrants”.

Adding that, “Former Governor Jang has decided to go with the group that believes in the truth and is not surprised that, this group of “Stakeholders” is not in agreement with the path he has chosen.

“He did not envisage that, everyone will agree with him, but he is working based on his conviction that, the truth must be told in the interest of the party.

“Every loyal party man or woman is indeed wishing for a peaceful resolution of the self-inflicted and avoidable internal crisis rocking the party and it is the belief of Jang that, those who have the interest of the party at heart, should insist that the right thing is done in order for the PDP to take its rightful place of pride as the only truly democratic party.

“Senator Jang and others have made their call, loud enough for anyone, who wants to listen and the call still remains that, in the interest of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, should resign, as the National Chairman of the PDP.

“That is the just, fair and equitable thing to do, to pave the way for resolution of the crisis and set the party on the path to winning the 2023 presidential elections”.

However, in his reaction to the rejoinder, Prof. Best, who took to a PDP WhatsApp platforms, among others, did not deny authoring the statement believed to be against Jang, but question why, Mr. Clinton speaks on Plateau State issues. He rather urged the Investor to leave the state.

Prof. Best, in his reaction, stated as follows (Unedited):-

“I personally have no problem with Clinton Garuba, who is doing his job except that, he dares to mention me by name as having lost an election and sulking from the loss.

“Did he need to go this personal?

“The press statement we issued was a group product and I was only an anchor, a position of trust bestowed on me by people united to work for Atiku as the PDP Presidential candidate.

“Very true, I contested the Governorship position and lost at the primaries. I am proud to have offered myself to serve my beloved state Plateau. I had beautiful plans for my state and wanted to add value. This is my State.

“Whether I won or not is beside the point. Mutfwang emerged from the primaries and I am committed to working for his victory.

“Which one is Clinton’s stake in this matter except the obvious commercial interest he has always represented in my beloved state and his mistaken view that, he understands Plateau politics better than some of us? God forbid.

“Since Clinton has such a capacity to win elections, he should go ahead and contest the next Governorship elections in Plateau State and win!

“O, sorry, he cannot because he is not from our state. Let me, however, be gracious to him and request him to contest a Ward election in Edo State and win, and then not sulk. Please go ahead.

“For me, the problem is that, Clinton is not from Plateau State and he knows it. Where does he or his grandparents come from? Or is he now from Du and Jos South? Has Clinton not exploited this state enough?

“I want to advise this Edo chap to stop nosing into Plateau affairs when its leaders and intellectuals are discussing their State.

“Or don’t we have the right to discuss as Plateau people again? Clinton cannot use our issues to continue to milk a certain family in the name of Media Advice.

“Having aspired to lead the state, I have a right to speak on every subject that affects Plateau State. Leadership has been bestowed on me naturally and the likes of Clinton cannot quiten me. One million of his type cannot quite me.

“I have been a Professor for 15 years. Where was Clinton 15 years ago? I have held a PhD from a top British University since 1996, 26 years ago. Where was Clinton in 1996, 26 years ago?

“I am not an average Plateau citizen; I am among its best and brightest.

“Clinton should be advised to go to SPS Keffi, ABU Zaria, University of Bradford and where my feet have passes through, let him check my pedigree. I am simply not his match and he should be careful and show some respect   whenever he chooses to talk about me.

“I dislike his going personal on me, or on any Plateau leader or son and daughter for that matter.

However, in a swift response, Mr. Clinton replied as follows (Unedited):-

“I am glad I asked the question for clarity, otherwise I would have assumed you were questioning my right to speak on issues that concerns a state I have lived in for over 10 years, paid my taxes and have investment worth over the combined investment of all those, who have questioned my right to speak on issues that concerned a party that I have served with so much courage and sacrifice at different capacity including in all state campaign committee from 2011 -2019. The same PDP that I paid dues to from 2007 – 2015 and some charlatans are of the view that I should keep mute??

“I have deliberately ignored some rats or at best squirrels, who have tried to throw tantrums at me because they are too little to understand issues, some clowns have out of ignorance asked me to leave the state and I laughed at their folly for they have no idea as to, who they are dealing with.

“I wanted clarifications so that, I don’t mix up things and I am glad that you have clarified the point. If I were to respond to you because I thought you were going to tow the line of very shallow minded individuals that display sheer ignorance of the fundamentals of human existence and the fact that one is free to live, interact, share his views anywhere and at any point in time, perhaps we would have engaged in something not befitting, but since you have restrained yourself, let me allow that to slide.

“You have come out to ask if I am comfortable with what Sen. Jonah Jang said and I will tell you very clearly that, politics is about interest, your interest could be in former Vice President Atiku, while Jang’s interest might not be in Atiku, even though in this case, you seem to have the same interest in the PDP wining the 2023 Presidential elections, but for a fundamental procedural error which Sen. Jang has pointed out. Some of us will rather take sides with a Jang, who has stood with the truth and with his people and by his people over the years, putting his life on the line for them. He won’t be making a mistake at this time!

“So, let the error in the processes be corrected!

“I will gladly tell you that, whatever action Jang has taken is not in any way inimical to the Plateau Agenda, it only aligns with and not deviates from the Plateau Agenda.

“I therefore expect you to advise your principal to do the needful and not short-change the people. However, if this discussion is going to take a different dimension, I am ready to have exchanges with you, let’s exchange ideas.

“In the event that it degenerates and comes to dancing naked in the market square, I will dance naked with you”.

PLATEAU: “UNKNOWN PDP STAKEHOLDERS”: PROF. SHEDRACK BEST, OTHERS TAKEN TO THE CLEANERS

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

A former Secretary to the Plateau State Government (SSG), Prof. Shedrack Best has been taken to the cleaners and re-schooled more on the history and tradition of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with Senator Jonah David Jang, as one of the Founding Fathers.

In a rejoinder signed by Mr. Clinton Garuba, the Media Consultant to Sen. Jonah David Jang, Prof. Best and his “Unknown Stakeholders” are advised not to use Sen. Jonah Jang as a launching pad, but to go ahead and pursue their interest and support for the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and his presidential drive.

The group in the said publication alleged that, Plateau PDP Stakeholders disowned, Sen (Dr) Jonah David Jang for asking the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu to resign.

RE: PLATEAU PDP STAKEHOLDERS DISOWN JANG.

Our attention has been drawn to a publication purportedly issued by a certain unknown group, dubbed Plateau for Atiku group and signed by its Protem Secretary, Prof. Shedrack Best.

The group in the said publication alleged that, Plateau PDP Stakeholders, disowned Sen (Dr) Jonah David Jang for asking the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu to resign.

Perhaps, it is important to school the said group, which has arrogated to itself the noble position of Stakeholders, which it indeed is not, of the dynamics of the politics of the PDP to which they are latter-day entrants.

They may have been carried away by blind followership to know that, Sen. Jang and the other founding fathers of the PDP, built it on the principles of Justice, Equity and Fairness and it is these principles that held the party to where it is today. Subverting the constitution of the party long-held tradition of inclusiveness is a sure way to derail the party from getting back to its winning ways.

Senator Jang and the real Stakeholders in the party are not surprised that, such a publication is authored by Prof. Shedrack Best, who is still aggrieved and sulking over his loss in the recently held primaries of the PDP in Plateau State.

He needs to let go of the bitterness against Jang as he is not responsible for his loss, as the Stakeholders agreed then that, the delegates voted for Aspirants and only one winner could emerge.

It is true that, Senator Jang and other prominent members of the party have been with Governor Nyesom Wike in the fight to entrench Truth, Equity and the need to give all members a sense of belonging and they have also made it clear that, it is for the purpose of moving the party forward and leading it to victory at the polls.

Those, who have followed Jang closely will attest to the consistent history of Jang as it relates to truth and fairness, such that, as a sitting Governor, he once challenged a sitting President of Nigeria, who was also a member of same political party (PDP) in Court.

Prof. Best, of all people should know that, in the pursuit of truth, Jang is always prepared to tow the lonely path.

Several calls have been made to the party to salvage the situation and resolve the issues arising from the outcome of the Presidential Primaries, but it seems all call fell on deaf ears. Instead of reinforcing the call on the leadership of the party to do the right thing, it is unfortunate that, the so-called “Unknown Stakeholders” are seeking for relevance by using the name of Senator Jang as a launching pad.

They could go ahead with supporting former Vice President Atiku Abubaker without dragging Senator Jang into their journey to infamy.

They should make no mistake either, about the fact that, Senator Jonah Jang, does not have anything personal against His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, as those in this journey of infamy will recall that, in 2019, Jang mobilized his personal resources in support of Atiku, despite the fact that, funds made available for the campaigns was in an attempt to ridicule Jang, sent to the wrong persons.

Former Governor Jang has decided to go with the group that believes in the truth and is not surprised that, this group of “Stakeholders” is not in agreement with the path he has chosen. He did not envisage that, everyone will agree with him, but he is working based on his conviction that, the truth must be told in the interest of the party.

Every loyal party man or woman is indeed wishing for a peaceful resolution of the self-inflicted and avoidable internal crisis rocking the party and it is the belief of Jang that, those who have the interest of the party at heart, should insist that the right thing is done in order for the PDP to take its rightful place of pride as the only truly democratic party.

Senator Jang and others have made their call, loud enough for anyone, who wants to listen and the call still remains that in the interest of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, should resign as the National Chairman of the PDP.

That is the just, fair and equitable thing to do, to pave the way for resolution of the crisis and set the party on the path to winning the 2023 presidential elections.

PLATEAU: THE REASON FOR MOVING TO ESTABLISH ZIBAH PHARMACY IS VERY EMOTIONAL—PASTOR GULU

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

There are strong reason(s) to believe that, Zibah Pharmacy, the new Pharmacy that is expected to be established soon in Jos, the Plateau State capital, may have been laced with sad tales and huge emotional feelings. REALITY just gathered.

In an investigation and interview conducted by REALITY, relating to Zibah Pharmacy and those behind its possible establishment, REALITY gathered that, the owner is currently blinded by the feeling of saving society from, a situation of “Non-availability of drugs”, laced with a positive drive to make Zibah Pharmacy, the last bus stop for such search for Prescribed Medical Drugs.

It was gathered in the course of the interviews conducted that, one of the major reasons for moving to establish Zibah Pharmacy, may not be unconnected to the death of the Uncle of Pastor Michael Gulu, whom the family lost because they could not find a prescribe drug to save his Uncle’s life.

In a chart with Pastor Michael Gulu, he further revealed a sad and emotional story of the cause of his Uncle’s death this way in part.

He said, “Before my late Uncle passed away, a medicine was prescribed to us to be bought.

“We searched around and found it only at old Bukuru Park. Unfortunately, it was not up to what was prescribed and we lost him. Frankly, as a result of that, the conception of Zibah Pharmacy came about and today it is in fulfillment.

“The goal behind the move to establish Zibah Pharmacy in brief is to provide healthy drugs, which are fully registered under NAFDAC for Plateau people and Nigerians at large and to make them available to aid speedy recovery of individuals.

“Also, to add to this sad story is the fact that, my Uncle’s death, made us to further understand the effect(s) of lack of adequate First Aid at home, most especially when you have a patient in a hospital.

“During his illness, I constantly remember and sadly too, the day we went to the hospital and we had to wait for hours without any first treatment administered on him to ease his pains.

“Among this are so many other reasons or rational behind Zibah Pharmacy”.

“Like I said early during our chat, Zibah Pharmacy would be established to serve the people profitably. We are establishing to also give back to society”.

You would recall that, REALITY had reported that, ZIBAH PHARMACY, when fully operational, would be running as a Wholesale and Retail outfit, in order to assist smaller outlets in the industry and that, ZIBAH Pharmacy and its Nigerian Head Office, would be located along, Goodluck Jonathan Way (Alheri) and close to the Gada Bui Market and the New Satellite Market along Rukuba Road in Jos.

HON. WARR

In his remarks at the occasion, Governor Simon Bako Lalong, like other speakers, hailed the launching of WRAPA Women of Resilience, while calling on the people of Plateau State, especially the women, to take advantage of all the Laws concerning violence passed and assented to by his administration.

He said, “We hate any form of violence against anybody, especially, on women and the girl child hence, we passed those Laws. We want our homes to be free of violence as this will further bring peace to the state”.

DINMA

While welcoming the women and other dignitaries to the launching, WRAPA Senior Project Officer, Dinma Nwanye,  in her welcoming speech explained that, the Violence Against Women and Girls Accountability Project is a two-year project, implemented in FCT, Jigawa, Katsina and Plateau state by WRAPA, to support the voice and agency of women and girls to speak out on all forms of violence against women and girls and work with the Faith and Culture leaders to extract accountability from VAWG perpetrators.

Adding that, “The movement is established to identify and respond to VAWG case reports in their communities by scaling up reported cases to duty bearers, using the response protocol co-created by the community stakeholders and the project monitoring and documentation of VAWG incident reports and interventions in communities, based on commitments made by Faith and Culture leaders.

“The body will visit families and have convenings that increase awareness, strengthen trust and provide access to survivals, who may not be opportune to seek and obtain formal adjudication”.

RUTH ABWO, PLATEAU STATE PROJECT OFFICER

In an interview with the Plateau State WRAPA Program Officer, Ruth Abwo, she explained that, “For quite some time now, we know that, so many women have been violated and they have remained quiet. So, the importance of this gathering today, is to encourage the women to speak out. With this enlightenment, they now know that, there is a Safe Space. The WRAPA Women of Resilience are now their immediate Safe Space, where they can go and share their worries so that, the Women of Resilience can now take it up to the responsibility leaders.

“In the past, they go directly to the police station, but now, they will just meet these carefully selected women in their communities”.

You would recall that, WRAPA VAWG Accountability Project, is been supported by Ford Foundation, as a two-year project, implemented to challenge norms that infringe on the rights of women and girls and build the capacity of faith and cultural leaders to demand accountability from perpetrators of VAWG.

PLATEAU LP: AMB. MARGIF vs DR. DAKUM: YOUR REPLY IS FILLED WITH LOTS OF CONTRADICTIONS AND INCONSISTENCIES. MARGIF REPLIES DR. DAKUM

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

The quest to establish legitimacy of the governorship candidature of the Labour Party (LP) in Plateau State is taking another dramatic turn in the Federal High Court (FHC), as Amb. Y. Margif in his “Further and Better Affidavit” has told the Federal High Court that, the reply of Dr.  Patrick Dakum and other Defendants to his Suit, No: FHC/J/CS/76/2022 is loaded with lots of “Contradictions and Inconsistencies”.

You would recall that, the Counter-Affidavit of the 1st and 2nd Defendant deposed to by one Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, the National Secretary to the 1st Defendant, to the Originating Summons filed by Amb. Margif, had told the Court that, owing to his position, he is conversant with the facts in the case.

He had deposed to the fact that, the Plaintiff, Amb. Margif,  is not the governorship candidate of the party for Plateau state in the general election coming up in 2023, but Dr. Patrick Dakum.

That, the Plaintiff is no longer a member of the party as he has been expelled from the State and Federal Wards of Margif/Kopmur and Mushere West respectively and that this was endorsed by the party at the Local Government (Bokkos LGA) due to conducts not acceptable to the party.

Adding that, “the the 3rd Defendant (INEC) duly acknowledged receipt of the letter of withdrawal which was accompanied with 1st Defendant’s (LP) letter, forwarding same on 2nd August, 2022.

“That, the 1st Defendant’s conveyance of Notice of Withdrawal of the Plaintiff’s candidature for governorship of Plateau State included other states of the Nigerian federation…

“That INEC ordered us to come and sign its withdrawal Form ECC11B before it, to be sure the withdrawal is true. We went and signed same with the Plaintiff and Dr. Patrick Dakum”.

However, in a swift, Further and Better Affidavit filed by Margif, through his Counsel, M. B. Abdullahi (Esq), the Plaintiff has pointed out lots of Contradictions and Inconsistencies of the 1st and 2nd Defendants’ reply to his Originating Summons and claims.

First, in the document sighted by REALITY, Margif has stated that, his name is never Yohana Yilwan Margif as stated in the purported voluntary withdrawal letter, but Amb. Yohana Yilpwan Margif.

Adding that, his membership number of the Labour Party (LP) is 31980 and not 0471 as falsely presented to the Court by the Defendants.

Amb. Margif, through his Counsel, M. B. Abdullahi (Esq), also drew the attention of the Court to the fact that, the date stated on his purported letter of withdrawal is 5/08/2022, but in there reply to his Originating Summons as filed before the Court, the Defendants contradicted themselves by further stating that, it was on the 2/08/2022.

From the Further and Better Affidavit sighted by REALITY, attached is an Affidavit, deposed to by one Jacob Bulus Diyishum, who claims to be the Chairman of LP of Margif/Kopmur Ward. In his deposition, Chairman Jacob stated that, “I have never in anywhere or any meeting discussed any matter regarding the candidature of Chief Amb. Yohana Yilpwan Margif, who is the flag bearer of the party (LP).

In the Disclaimer published and copied to Labour Party Local Government office Bokkos, the State and National, INEC, Law Enforcement Agencies and the Media Houses in the state, Jacob stated that, “The general public should disregard the said publication in the interest of peace in the party and of democracy”.

In the Affidavit, Margif questioned why Dr. Dakum is not displaying his INEC Form of replacement, but rather that of the party to date.

In a letter of reply from the office of the Chief Registrar of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, which served as a response to the request of the Counsel to the Plaintiff, Abdullahi (Esq), for the “Verification of an Affidavit sworn to on the 5th August, 2022, bearing the name of Yohana Yilwan Margif”, dated 18th August, 2022, one Vincent Ifeachor, who signed for the Chief Registrar, stated in part as follows:

“I write to inform you that a careful investigation conducted by the Court in respect of the attached copy of Letter of Voluntary Withdrawal bearing the name of Yohana Yilwan Margif, dated 5th of August, 2022 reveals that, the document was not sworn to before a Commissioner for Oath in this Court because there is no name of the Commissioner for Oath on the said document and also there is no Revenue receipt number”.
