The Chairman of Karu Traditional Council and Etsu Karu in Nasarawa State, Pharmacist Luka Panya has Baba marked his Twenty (20) years on the throne with a pledge to promote peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the Council and in the State as top priority.

The Traditional ruler, who was speaking at a colourful celebration in Karu as part of activities to mark the occasion, also promised to collaborate with other Traditional rulers in the country on the need to add their voices to the crusade of preaching things that would unite the people as a Nation rather than, to divide them.

The new leadership of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), led by its Chairman, Hon. Plangji Cishak has commenced activities.

The Commission has commenced its activities with interactions with critical stakeholders including the Media and its Practitioners to see how trust would be rebuild and hope restored in the entire electoral process in the state. REALITY gathered.

In a press conference today (6/20/2024) by the Commission, aimed at forging a partnership with Media Practitioners in the state, the Chairman, Hon. Plangji said, the role of the Fourth Realm is pivotal not only in disseminating the messages of the Commission, but also in projecting the transparent processes the Commission is aimed to implement.

The General Manager (G.M) of Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB), Hon ARC. Hart Bankat has reiterated his advice to owners of buildings on roads in the city of Jos and Bukuru in Jos North and Jos South Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Plateau State respectively, to take advantage of the three months grace given by the State Government to regularize their buildings.

He made this call today, 17^th June 2024, while inspecting the ongoing exercise of vehicular and traffic control under the State’s policy of “Urban Renewal”.

NASARAWA: Eid-el-Kabir: Gov. Sule Calls on Muslims to Live a Life of Selflessness, Brotherhood, and Sacrifice

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has congratulated the Muslim community in the state for joining their counterparts all over the world in celebrating the feast of Eid-el-Kabir.

The State’s Chief Executive said the celebration is a test of faith in commemoration of the sublime submission by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) to the call for sacrifice.

In a Sallah message to the people of the state in Lafia on Saturday, the Governor stated that the celebration also symbolizes a call to all Muslims to live a life of selflessness, brotherhood, sacrifice, and adherence to Allah’s commands.

He reminded the Muslim Ummah that an occasion such as this, “calls on the Ummah to reflect on their relationships with God and fellow human beings, as a yardstick for righteous living, love, and peaceful coexistence in the society”. 

PLATEAU: BREAKING: LGC CHAIRMEN AND 325 COUNCILORS vs GOV. MUTFWANG (ESQ): LITIGANTS HEADING TO COURT OF APPEAL

Suit No: PLD/J257/2023, filed by the 17 suspended Local Government Councils’ Executive Chairmen and their 325 Councilors in Plateau State, challenging the powers of the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang (Esq) and the State Attorney-General (A-G) to removing them from office and in their place, a Committee, has been dismissed by the Plateau State High Court, presided over by, Hon. Justice Dasplang Samchi. However, dissatisfied with the apart of the Ruling and Judgment of the Court, Litigants in the matter are preparing to head to the Court of Appeal to test the decision of the Plateau State High Court. REALITY gathered.  

You would recall that REALITY had earlier reported that the Court had earlier dismissed the Preliminary Objection (PO) filed by the Defendants against the Originating Summons, which was challenging the jurisdiction of the Court to entertain the Suit.

The case between Superfine Furniture and Yakubu C. Jang, at the Plateau State Chief Magistrate Court, Giring Abattoir in Jos, could not commence again today, 10^th June 2024, as the Chief Magistrate Court could not find proof of service of the Court’s Summons on Yakubu Jang in the Court’s file.

However, to fasten the process, the Counsel representing Yakubu Jang was served in Court as the bailiff had complained of not been able to serve the Defendant in person since the last sitting.

THE DISMISSAL OF MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA, CANNOT STAND. COURT DECLARES, TELLS NVRI/GOVERNING BOARD

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) had in its Judgment on Suit No: NICN/JOS/47/2013, dated 22^nd June 2017, between MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA vs National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) and its Governing Board, declared that the dismissal of the Claimant (MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA) cannot stand because the Rules/Procedures of the Institute in relation to dismissal were completely ignored.

This finding was also affirmed by the Court of Appeal, Jos Division in its Judgment delivered on 8^th August 2022 in Appeal No: CA/J/276/2018.

The Plateau State chapter of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) has raised alarm that some unknown persons have started impersonating the party in Plateau State and have also started engaging in activities that are exclusive to the party and its elected officers.

The party has therefore warned the general public to be aware of this new development.

The party Chairman in the state, Hon. Bitrus Boyi Ngah, in a press statement made available to REALITY stated that the party would hence forth use the arm of the Law to arrest the situation, if the perpetrators refused to adhere to the warning.

PLATEAU: “THERE WAS NO FAIR HEARING”. COURT OF APPEAL DECLARES IN NVRI vs MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA’S CASE

SUIT NO: CA/J/276/2013, is an Appeal filed by the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), against the Judgment of the National Industrial Court, Jos Division, presided over by Hon. Justice R. H. Gwandu, delivered on the 2^nd of June 2018 in Suit No: NICN/JOS/47/2013 in favour of Mr. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA.

The Court of Appeal in its Judgment on Tuesday, 8^th August 2022, while affirming and dismissing the Appeal filed by NVRI, declared that the Respondent, MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA was not given a fair hearing by the Committee which conducted the proceedings which dismissed him.

As the nation gets prepared to commemorate another Democracy-Day Anniversary slated for 12^th June 2024, the President, Sen. Bola A. Tinubu has been called upon to appoint a Minister to fill in the Plateau State slot in the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Making the call in an interview recently, Professor Patrick Dakum, a front-line politician and the Governorship candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 Governorship election in Plateau State, lamented that the President's delay in appointing a new Minister to fill in the gap created by the exit of Sen. Simon Lalong, the then Minister of Labour, is a total disservice to Plateau and it calls for immediate remedy.

MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA vs NVRI: THE UNREPORTED STORY OF THE CLAIMANT BEFORE THE COURT AND THE JUDGMENT

Despite investigations have shown that the unanimous Judgment of the Court of Appeal, Jos Division by Tani Yusuf Hassan (PJCA), Ibrahim Ali Andenyangtso (JCA), and Lasumbo Olarenwaju Goodluck (JCA), affirming the Judgment of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) Jos Judicial Division, that the purported stoppage of Mr. Reuben Awanye Itruma’s (Claimant) salary from October 2007 till date and his subsequent purported dismissal from service of the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) Vom, pursuant to the Public Service Rules and all the steps leading up to his dismissal are unlawful, null, void and of no effect whatsoever, on 8^th August 2022, the Institute is yet to obey the Orders of the Courts.

Secondly, findings have also shown that the sad reality of the Claimant’s sad and lamentable story has not been reported or told to the general public.

PLATEAU: NUJ CHAIRMAN, MRS. AYUKU PWASPO, HER LEADERSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY STYLE (PART I)

It is not strange to members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Plateau State Council of the able leadership style being introduced by the State Council Chairman, Mrs. Ayuku Pwaspo.

The members of the NUJ in the state were already bracing up for it, as it models her campaign speech at all levels and in all Chapels.

She has introduced the basic principle of leadership by delegating responsibilities and goals to various Committees, and has within her one year under review, charged the Committees to be result-oriented.

The Assignment Committee being chaired by Mr. Douglas Francis under her watch, has not only been accountable to the body but has keyed into the EXCO’s commitment to carry all Journalists registered in the state along in all programs and activities.

The Federal Government has concluded plans to donate one trailer load of rice, and fertilizers with a whopping sum of #50,000 to a total number of 1000 women in each state of the federation including Abuja.

The wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, disclosed this Tuesday while distributing food items to a total of Six Hundred vulnerable, people living with disability in Lafia the Nasarawa state capital.

It is getting to one year now when members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Plateau State Council, elected their leaders to govern, administer, and manage their affairs.

Before now, the worries of members of the Council had centered on the lack of unity and the willingness among members to pursue democratic stability for the state.

The quest, mission, expedition, and goals of each member were more driven by personal interest(s), and political relevance rather than, for collective gains until Mrs. Ayuku Pwaspo and her able working team emerged out of a stiffly contested election.
