BREAKING: PDP, GOV. CALEB, INEC WIN BIG AS TRIBUNAL DISMISSES SOLOMON CHENDAN/ADC PETITION WITH COST

The Plateau State Governorship Tribunal sitting in Jos, the Plateau state capital has dismissed the petition filed by Solomon Nandy Chendan  and his political party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for lack of “diligent prosecution”.

The petition was also dismissed according to the bench ruling of the Tribunal because, the petitioners failing to pay the statutory “Security Cost” as provided for by the 1st Schedule of the Electoral Act.

Earlier, the Respondents in the petition, INEC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Caleb Mutfwang had urged the Tribunal to dismiss the petition as the petitioners had failed to file form 007 to kick start the Pre-hearing session.

More also they urged the Tribunal to take judicial notice that the petitioners were not in court.

“For not being in Court is a strong indication that they have abandoned their petition” The three Respondents emphasized.

However, in dismissing the petition, the Tribunal further awarded One Million Naira Cost to be paid to each Respondent by the petitioners.
