The Independent Publishers’ Association (IPA), headquartered in Plateau State and led by its Chairman, Mr. Shabul Mazadu has began assessing the administration of Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State.
The body in its meeting today, chaired by Mr. Shabul as Chairman, gave critical attention to the efforts of the administration within the Yuletide period and after evaluation has given a pass mark, to Governor Simon Lalong, for the peace experienced in the state, despite isolated kidnappings and other criminal activities reported in the media.
IPA members also commended the efforts of security operatives in the state for the security provided within the period, while also commending the corporation of the citizens in the state for enabling the security operatives maintain, the desired law and order.
The meeting also went further to provide a time table for assessing serving and elected political officers, including Aspirants eyeing federal and state elective offices, come 2023 general elections.
You would note that, a lot of posters of these aspirants are currently defacing the city center of Jos, the Plateau State capital.
In his explanation to members concerning the planned assessments, the Chairman, Mr. Shabul said, “the process is aimed at getting quality hands to help and build the Plateau and also to reward those, who have shown credible performance and to encourage them, to put in more.
“The assessment is not limited to serving elected officers or the incumbent administration in the state, but to individuals in the administration that have demonstrated excellence in the service to the state”.
“After the assessments, we would sit as a body and decided how to reward those, who have shown love for the state and those aspiring to take or contest these same offices in 2023.”
