BREAKING: PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR APPROVES 50% DEDUCTION ON GROUND RENT—COMMISSIONER

Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has approved 50% deduction in the payment of Ground Rents in the state.

This decision of the Plateau State Governor was disclosed to REALITY by Mr. Yakubu Dati, the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning, in a chat with REALITY.

The Commissioner, who also called on property owners in the state to take advantage of the Governor’s gesture said, the Governor, took the decision looking at the reality of the times and the economic situation being faced by Plateau people.

Mr. Dati said, Recertification of Land Documents, Registration and Issuance of Land Titles, among other business transactions would enjoy same deductions.

You would recall that REALITY had reported that, The Plateau State Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning has warned land owners, who want to pay their Ground Rents to be very careful of imposters, who come claiming to be staff of the Ministry.

The warning was handed down also by, Mr. Yakubu Dati, the Commissioner of the Ministry, while addressing and explaining the issues concerning Land Recertification, Registration, Issuance of Certificate of Occupancy, Right of Occupancy and other Business Transactions to Land owners.

The Commissioner, Mr. Dati said, land owners should double check the facts concerning any suspected imposters by getting clarification from the Ministry or directly from his office, if need be.

He said the payment of Ground Rents and other businesses in the Ministry have been computerized to protect land owners in the state.

You would recall that the Plateau State Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning had taken the campaign over Ground Rents since 2021, to the nooks and crannies of the state in order to bring awareness of its benefits to land owners, the State Government and the state at large.
