JUST IN: LOCAL GOVT AUTONOMY, JUDGMENT-DAY, ON PLATEAU STATE SACKED 17 LGC CHAIRMEN, HEARING ON FG vs STATES FIXED

“The Movement for the Achievement of Local Government Autonomy”, recurrently launched by REALITY Newspaper’s Editor-In-Chief, Prince Amb. Valentine Adese (JP), who also doubles as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of valrealityradio Online, would formally begin its campaign on the 20th of June 2024, to create the anticipated and needed wakeup call on citizens in the state on the need to support Local Government Autonomy and the country at Large.

You would recall that during his speech at the launching of the Movement, the renowned Journalist (Amb. Valentine), had promised to use all platforms available to him to promote the call for Local Government Autonomy, especially using his Radio platform that covers over 12 countries.

In another development, the long awaited Judgment Day, on Suit No: PLD/J257/2023, filed by the sacked Local Government Council Chairmen, with their sacked 325 Councilors in Plateau State, has been fixed.

The Plateau State High Court presided over by, Hon. Justice Dasplang Samchi, has fixed the 11th of June 2024, to deliver the Judgment.

You would recall that the Plaintiffs have dragged the state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang (Esq) and the Attorney-General of the State to Court, challenging their powers to remove them from office since 2023.

In the same vein, the Supreme Court of Nigeria (SCN), has fixed the hearing of the case concerning Local Government Autonomy, filed by the Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria against the 36 States Governors for the 13th of June 2024.

You would recall that the Supreme Court had ordered and directed all parties in the suit to file their processes and responses already.
