2023: GOV. LALONG CHARGES APC LEADERS TO WIN THE SIX STATES IN NORTH CENTRAL ZONE, AS IN 2015---YOUR APPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING--APC

The Governor of Plateau State and Director General (DG) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign, Rt. Honourable, (DR.) Simon Bako Lalong has expressed total confidence in the North Central Zonal Executive Committee of the party and has also charged its leadership to put in more efforts in order to win the governorship seats of the zone, come 2023 general elections.

He gave this encouraging push yesterday, when the North Central Zonal Exco, led by the Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Mua’zu Bawa paid him a courtesy visit at his Rayfield Government House residence, as part of its consultative visit to Plateau state.

In a Press Release of the APC, signed by Hon. Sylvanus Namang, the APC State Publicity Secretary, dated 17th September, 2022, Governor Lalong said the party is quite happy with what the leadership is doing at the Zonal level.

Governor also assured the body of his and the Presidential Campaign Council’s maximum cooperation and support in order to maintain the winning streak in the zone.

“He said the APC won all the six governorship seats in the zone in 2015, but one defected to the opposition party.

“He is confident that, the party will work hard to win in all the six states.

“He urged the Zonal Exco to continue to make the difference by maintaining the clean slate.

“He said he has told the Presidential Candidate to have great hope in the North Central to deliver in next year’s elections”. The Press Release added.

According to the release, the North Central Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Mua’zu Bawa, who is also the North Central Vice Chairman of the party, had earlier on, informed Governor Lalong that, they were visiting the state, as directed by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to go round to interface and interact with party faithful across all the six geopolitical zones of the country.

He said during the visits, they would discuss issues that would advance the unity of the party in the zone and encourage party supporters to work for the success of the party at all levels as the country moves towards the general elections.

“He said the Zonal leadership was at Government House to congratulate Governor Simon Bako Lalong, over his well deserved appointment as the Director General of the Tinubu/ Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

“He said the zone is very happy with his appointment to this exalted position, which is going to add to the fortunes of the party in the zone.

“He thanked the Governor for the role he played during the convention, which ensured the emergence of a candidate from the southern part of the country, which is in line with the party’s principles of fairness, justice and equity”. The release in part stated.

He stated this yesterday when the North Central Zonal Exco, led by the the Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Mua’zu Bawa,  paid him a courtesy visit at his Rayfield Government House residence, as part of its consultative visit to Plateau state.

Governor Simon Lalong, who is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) said, the APC is strategizing on how to win the 2023 elections at all levels.

He revealed that the party is consulting widely in order to have an all inclusive campaign structure.

He said that is why it is reviewing the organogram to get more people and groups involved.

He advised against people wanting to be engaged in the campaign at the national level.

He observed that, in the past, party big wigs would rush to the center to collect appointment letters, but would not go back to work at the grassroots.

He said this time around, the narrative has changed as the basis for the assessment of people for appointment or patronage would be from the polling unit and ward levels.

He said the leadership at those levels where everyone would vote, would have to acknowledge each member’s contribution to the electoral victory.

He also revealed that, the coordinators of the Presidential Campaign would have attached to them party executives, who would monitor them to ensure they are on ground to achieve the desired electoral victory.

Highpoint of the courtesy visit was the decoration of the Governor with the regalia for the upcoming Youth Summit in Abuja by the Zonal Youth Leader, Hon. Zubair Aliyu and presentation of the Action Plan by the youths in the zone.

Members of the entourage include: Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Adamu, Zonal Secretary, Hon. Ahmed Attah, Zonal Organising Secretary, Hajia Zahra Mustapha Audu, Zonal Women Leader and Barr. Hadizah Aliyu, Zonal Legal Adviser.

Others are, Barr. Obor John, Zonal Publicity Secretary and Usman Adaji,  FCT Publicity Secretary.

The Zonal Chairman was also accompanied by the APC Chairmen of Benue and Nasarawa states, Comrade Austin Agada and Dr John W. D. Mamman respectively.
