As the world celebrates the new year 2023, the Chairman of the Plateau State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Hon. Rufus Bature has called for a free, fair and peaceful elections in Plateau State and Nigeria at large in the forthcoming general election slated by INEC for this year.
The Chairman, who made this call in his “New Year Message” dated, 1st January, 2023 and signed by Hon. Sylvanus Namang, the APC State Publicity Secretary, also praised the Captain of the APC Rescue Administration in the state led by, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, for the relative peace enjoyed last year. The Chairman also charged the incoming administration to cause for its sustenance.
The press statement in part reads: “Hon. Rufus Bature praised the Captain of the Rescue Administration, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, for the relative peace we enjoyed last year and prays for its sustenance by the incoming administration, which all things being equal, would be formed by the APC thus: breaking the jinx of succession pattern in the state.
“The APC Chairman commends Plateau citizens for the cooperation they gave the government last year, which he solicits for its sustenance this year and beyond.
“He is also full of gratitude to all security agencies for maintaining peace, law and order and the media for propagating the activities of the party and the APC government in the state”.

Hon. Rufus Bature said, we should learn to grow and nurture our democracy to maturity and should not see election as a do or die affair.
According to him, the interest and survival of Plateau State, its people and the nation should be seen as paramount.
Hon. Rufus Bature praised the Captain of the Rescue Administration, Rt. Hon.
