PLATEAU: PROF. NENTAWE’S VICTORY: WHY IS THE PDP, AND ITS MEMBERS BEHAVING AS IF THEY ARE IN THE OPPOSITION? THE MOVEMENT FOR PLATEAU RESTORATION, ASKS

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

With the deepening misunderstanding of the recent Judgments of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, which had sacked all the Plateau State House of Assembly Members under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and in their place Members of the Labour Party (LP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had challenged their victories at the polls, the Movement for the Restoration of Plateau State (MRPS) has described the behaviors of the PDP after the Judgments as those of an opposition party in a political contest.

The MRPS in a press release, dated 4th December 2023, signed by its Chairman, Daniel Pam Gyang, advised the PDP to review its actions and remind itself that, it is the ruling party in the state and stop organizing protests by simply doing the needful according to the expectations of the Laws governing elections in the country.

The text also advised the PDP not to focus on the victory APC, and the rumouring coming of Governor-Elect, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, but to continue to deliver the needed Dividends of Democracy to the good people of Plateau State.
