Hon. Pam Bot Mang, the young energetic and an accomplished businessman-turned politician was born in Jos to the famous family of Chief Michael Joseph Bot Mang, former Deputy Governor of Plateau State and Ngo Lydia Bot Mang on 22nd October, 1973.
The very dynamic promising Pam Bot Mang went to the famous Boys Secondary School, Gindiri, a missionary school which has become a fertile ground for the raising of leaders, technocrats and academicians of high standing in the Nigerian State, Including the late Joseph Dechi Gomwalk, the revered former military governor of the Old Benue Plateau State.
In search of the Golden Fleece, the urbane and cosmopolitan Pam Bot Mang, left the shores of this country where he studied and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Law Ll.B at the University of Buchingham and another BS.C Degree in Management and Law at the University of London.
In order to adequately prepare himself for the corporate world, the now 48 -year – old Pam Bot Mang obtained several certificates and diplomas in different fields including Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from the Nigeria College of Civil Aviation Zaria, Diploma in Banking at the famous University of Jos, Development leadership Competences at Cranfield University, UK and Owners Management Programme at the Lagos Business School, Nigeria, among several others, which time and space would not allow at this brief, but epoch- making event.
This shrewd and very calculated businessman traversed like a colossus the corporate world where he remained a shining example and a pride to the people of Plateau state.
The humble and unassuming Pam Bot Mang, having sufficiently cut his teeth in the maritime environment, where many feared to thread based on the competition and challenges therein. In 2002, he decided to set up the Platinium Services Ltd; which has since been operational and has stood tall amongst such ventures in Nigeria’s commercial hub of Lagos.
The company provides a full range of logistic services to clients across the globe.
He became an employer of Labour in his early thirties and has since remained so, as the company which has two subsidiaries with a staff strength of 55 is still flourishing to the admiration of all.
Not forgetting his beloved state, many had thought that, Pam Bot Mang would not leave the comfort zone of Lagos to accept to serve the state.
To the pleasant surprise of all, the charismatic Pam Bot Mang, accepted His Excellency Governor Simon Lalong’s clarion call to join him in the Rescue Administration, as member of the State Executive Council (SEC), at the twilight of the first tenure in 2018.
He was assigned the crucial task of serving as the Honourable Commissioner of Works, where he performed creditable well, thus earning him a second appointment as, Hon. Commissioner in the same Ministry where he has handled to the admiration of all crucial infrastructural works including the construction of the British America Flyover and Road Lamingo Dualization.
Governor Simon Lalong has not been disappointed by the appointment of this role model, who has ably proved that, performance on the job is not a function of age, but determination and sagacity.
Like father and like son, the amiable Pam Bot Mang has, no doubt successfully stepped into the big shoes of his late father, who was a well known politician and great mobilizer.
He brought his long experience in Lagos, which is acknowledged as the home of excellence, to bear in Plateau State.
The long search by the APC gubernatorial candidate in the state , Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, for an acceptable and suitable running mate has culminated in what we are all witnessing today , the unveiling of this dependable and most befitting choice.
We know naysayers, especially our noisy opposition in the state would from now, be having sleepless nights over this young man’s emergence as the running mate.
The die is fully cast for the 2023 race on the Plateau.
