Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has assured the people of Awe Local government area of Nasarawa state that, he would try his possible best to ensure an out of court settlement of the lingering tussle on the outcome of the primary election results of the APC of Awe/Tunga constituency between a veteran Journalist, Alh Hudu A. Hudu and the current Majority Leader of the House of Assembly. Hon. Tanko Tunga.
Addressing a large crowd of party supporters during a campaign rally in Awe town on Monday, Governor Sule said, the legal tussle on the outcome of the primary election as it affect the Awe/Tunga constituency is a great source of worry to the party and promised to dialogue with the two parties in order to find lasting solution to the quack mire.
He said, “In a situation where dialogue fails, they would have no other option than to allow the law takes it course”.
Adding that, “Alh. Hudu A. Hudu, is my junior brother, while Alh. Tanko Tunga is my friend. I cannot be seen to love one and reject the other”. He declared.
He said, while the case lingers on in the Court of law, none of the two aspirants would be given the party’s flag until the case was dispensed with.
He reminded the people of Awe that, they have benefited a lot from his administration, stressing that, they have one of the largest sugar company in West Africa cited in their area in addition to having two Commissioners representing them in the state Executive Council.
He promised to do more for them if they vote for him and all other APC candidates in next year’s general elections.
In his speech at the occasion, the state APC Chairman, Mr. John Mamman, told the party supporters that giving Governor Sule a second term would further promote the peaceful co-existence being experienced in the state.
He said, the people of Awe have every reason to re-vote Governor Sule even for the fact that, the multimillion naira Dangote Suger Company is cited in their area.
Also speaking at the occasion, Senator Tanko Al-Makura explained that, next year’s election would be quite different from the past, “as the era of ballot stuffing has gone”.
Adding that, “those that were used to rigging election to come to power illegally will no longer have their ways”.
