By: Wilson Bako (Lafia),

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has explained that the money that he is currently financing his second term campaign with, was generated from the fund raising launching which he personally organized.

Addressing thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters at a campaign rally in Akwanga Local Government Area (LGA) of the state yesterday, Eng. Sule disclosed that, a total sum of over one Billion Naira, was realized during the fund raising.

He explained that, those whom he invited at the fund raising ceremony were his friends that are well to do in the society, whom he had once assisted one way or the other when he was heading African Petroleum (AP), as well as, when he was a staff of Dangote company.

He said, it is necessary to explain his source of funds for the campaign in order to correct the misgivings by his political opponents that, he is making use of state funds for his campaign.

Engineer Sule, who went down memory lane to disclose some of his numerous achievements since he took over the mantle of leadership about three and half years ago said this include, the completion of Lafia Airport, Lafia Ultramodern Park, as well as, the Modern Markets nearing completion in Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga, among several others.

He appealed to the people of the state to give him additional four years to enable him continue to provide them with dividends of democracy.

He accused the candidature of the main opposition party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of being bereaved of ideas and only seeking the governorship position, as a source of employment.

You would recall that, the APC Chairman in the state, Mr. John Mamman, had while addressing the party faithful, explained that, the desire of Governor Sule is to build a Nasarawa State that would be second to none in terms of developments, adding that, “this could be achieved if by next year they all turned out en mass and cast their votes to him”.

Also addressing the crowd, the state Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Yakubu Kwanta said, the people of the state had never had a peaceful state before like during the current tenure of Eng. Sule. He therefore called on the people of the state to vote massively for the Governor to enable him continue with the good work he has started.
