BREAKING: ECONOMIC HARDSHIP: NASARAWA STATE GOVERNOR, ENGR. SULE, SETS UP COMMITTEE TO DISTRIBUTE PALLIATIVE

Nasarawa State Government is to commence the disbursement of palliative received from the Federal Government to Citizens in the state this week in order to help cushion the harsh economic hardship being experienced due to the fuel subsidy removal.

The state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, dropped this cheering news Monday, while performing the swearing ceremony of sixteen newly appointed Commissioners that would serve in his cabinet.

Accordingly to the State Chief Executive, Government was not unmindful of the hardship being faced by its citizens as a result of the current economic downturn.

The Governor also took time to praise the citizens in state for their patience and understanding with Government.

Governor Sule, however, has assured the people of the state that, all the food items are already in custody of the State Government and a high powered Committee has already been setup and charged with the responsibility of disbursing all the items.

While calling on the good people of the state to continue to be patient with the government, Engineer Sule, tasked the newly appointed Commissioners to imbibe the culture of transparency and tolerance with the public in the discharged of their official engagements, which he described as “the trade mark of his administration”.

He disclosed further that, in an effort to ensure that people at the grassroots benefit from the palliative, Committees comprising of religious, youths, market women and traditional leaders would be set up in villages to ensure that the food items get to them.

He called on those to be trusted with this all important assignment to exhibit the fear of God, “as anyone caught in shoddy deals will surely be dealt with accordance with the law of the land”.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Tijjani Aliyu Ahmed, appreciated the Governor for finding them worthy of the appointments.

He promised that, they would put in their best to justified the confidence reposed on them.
