PLATEAU: Jos Leadership School’s Vision and Mission Commended by Sen. Jonah Jang, Shares His Experience with Management and Students

The former governor of Plateau State, Sen. David Jonah Jang, has praised the initiative of the Jos Leadership School’s dedication to leadership development and has also commended the Institution for its efforts in nurturing responsible and forward-thinking leaders.

The former governor made this commendation when the Jos Leadership School, a faculty of the Center for African Leadership and Strategy Development, in collaboration with the Mountains of Hope Foundation, Jos, paid him a courtesy visit today, the 7th of August 2023, at his office to apprise him of their ongoing activities and seek his valuable encouragement and support.

Sen. Jang took time to shared anecdotes from his own experiences in leadership and underscored the importance of strong leadership in shaping the future of the state and the country as at large.

Jang said, “The secret of my leadership success is God and also using capable hands in driving my visions”.

Adding that, “The albatross of leadership is corruption and until it is systematically dealt with, development will be wishful thinking”.

Sen. Jang, charged the delegates to always pray for wisdom and be righteous in their doing.

PASTOR MRS. ESTHER DONGOYARO

Earlier in her speech. Pastor (Mrs.) Esther Dogonyaro, highlighted the Institution’s core mission of cultivating exceptional leadership skills and nurturing the next generation of leaders in the region.

She said, “Presently, Africa lacked deliberate nurturing of leaders and the bane of African under-development is tied to effective leadership, especially, in Nigeria where the country is hugely endowed, but lacked leadership to drive the country to progress.

On his part, after the reception and words of encouragement from Sen. Jang, the Class Governor, Prof. Pwaveno Bameyi, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Jos Leadership School and the Center for African Leadership and Strategy Development.

He emphasized that, “The support and encouragement from experienced leaders like Sen. Jonah Jang, would play a pivotal role in inspiring and motivating the students to pursue their leadership goals with passion and dedication.

The visit was led by the President of the Foundation Pastor Mrs. Esther Dogonyaro, accompanied by the coordinator of the leadership Center, Mr. James Ameh, and the Student Governor of the Set 2 of the Leadership School, Prof. Bameyi Pwaveno, with other leaders of student representatives of the esteemed Institution.

It is of note also that, the Mountains of Hope Foundation and the Jos Leadership School remain dedicated to their mission of cultivating exceptional leadership skills.

The school started in 2022 and has so far graduated its first grandaunts in January 2023. Currently, the set 2 training is ongoing with 75 participants drawn from all works and professions.
