Dr. Sani S. Dawop has emerged as the Plateau State Governorship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP).
He emerged, after the Governorship Primary conducted by the Plateau State chapter of the party, which was observed by officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) today, Thursday, 9th June, 2022, at the ADP Plateau State Office, 2nd B&G Twin Plaza, near NDA Base Camp, at Anguldi-Vom Road in Jos South Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.
The 16 Delegates, who are also members of the State Working Committee (SWC) at the primary election, first confirmed him, before affirming him, as the party’s candidate for the coming 2023 governorship election in the state.
Dr. Sani, in his acceptance speech, after receiving the party’s flag and certificate of return from the State Chairman of ADP, Capt. F. V. Lamda (Rtd) said, ”The move to redeem Plateau State and take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has just started with this single step”.
You would recall that, Dr. Sani S. Dawop was once a contender for the Chairmanship seat of Mangu Local Government, alongside Barr Caleb Mutfuang, who also is now the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before it was zoned in favour of Caleb.
According to Dr. Sani on the issue, he said, “I am capable and Caleb knows it. I am not new to him, but for Dr. Nentawe, he should just try to comfort or console himself.”
Dr. Sani S. Dawop however, disclosed that, if given the opportunity to serve the people his first area of focus would be the state of insecurity, revamping the state infrastructure, education, introducing investors like Dangote to the state, among others.
