The participants at the meeting organized by Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA) at the Plateau State Radio/Television Corporation (PRTVC) have resolved that, Governor Simon Bako Lalong must be commended and remembered for his Healthcare Policies that have saved lives.
According to them, “If his policy of saving life is all he can do for us, let him go and have a good rest! With our good health and the healthcare services in place, we can create the wealth we need”.
This position was arrived at, after watching and listening to testimonies of beneficiaries of the scheme across various works of life, tribe and ethnic nationalities.
The participants also resolved that, the Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA), should be provided more staff to enable the Agency meet up with its obligation of ensure that, every resident of Plateau State has access to good and affordable healthcare services.
Earlier in their remarks, the Commissioner of Information and Communication, Hon. Dan Manjang, Prof. Ishaya Pam (Former JUTH CMD, who was the Chairman of the occasion), Prof. Victor Pam, Prof. Chris and the General Manager (GM) of PRTVC, Mr. Jeftha Jackden, had encouraged residents and workers in the state, to key into the Contributing Healthcare, while advising the Director General (D-G) of PLASCHEMA to start preparing his successor, as the scheme cannot be abandoned after his exit.
As a pointer to the developments in PLASCHEMA, Hon. Manjang, the Commission of Information, while revealing his status, said he has already keyed into the scheme.
On his part, the Director General (D-G) Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA), Dr. Fabong Jemchang, while dishing out the successes and challenges of the Agency said, PLASCHEMA is poised to strengthen health financing by pooling resources through strategic purchase and mitigate high out of pocket expenditure.
“To that extend, the agency was established by Law to undertake the task of improving healthcare services and making same equitably available to residents of Plateau State.
“In order to ensure that, every resident of Plateau State has access to good and affordable healthcare services, and to provide them quality health services, without suffering financial hardship, the Rescue Administration led by Governor Simon Bako Lalong and the Agency, more than ever, have developed various programs to cover different segments of the society”. He added.
