The Pro-Poor Growth and Promotion of Employment in Nigeria Program (SEDIN) has disclosed that, the SEA-Hub Students’ Competition, which held in Plateau State is aimed at, showcasing the innovative mini businesses and products of SEA-Hub Schools, reward and celebrate outstanding business ideas and products of SEA-Hub students and their Staff Advisers across the active SEA-Hub Schools.
Adding that, it is also aimed at, meeting the objective of sustain the energy level of SEA-Hub students by promoting practical and active entrepreneurial learning through their mini businesses, showcasing the entrepreneurship ingenuity of SEA-Hub students, provide the sustainability and impact of SEA-Hub intervention, provide recognition to the students and schools for their effort in successfully running innovative mini businesses and to serve as, an incentive and motivation to other schools and students to run successful SEA-Hub mini businesses.
Disclosing the above in its Press Release, dated 15th June, 2022, which was made available to REALITY, SEDIN further explained that, Ten (10) SEA-Hubs would be competing and exhibiting during the completion, while Ten (10) schools would only exhibit.
Adding that, “The top 3 schools from each of the states are invited to participate at the national competition and exhibition. Each school would be represented be 3 SEA-Hub students (who will present for their schools) 2 Staff Advisers (supervising teachers) and the school principal”.

SECURING THE FUTURE OF YOUNG NIGERIANS
Name of the Event: Student Entrepreneurship Activity Hub (SEA-Hub) State Competition
Location :Crispan Suite and Event Centre, Plot 9259 opposite Airforce Base along Jonah David Jang way, Jos Plateau.
Date : 15th June 2022/ 9am.
SEA-Hub is an initiative of the Pro-Poor Growth and Promotion of Employment – SEDIN, which is part of the Sustainable Economic Development Cluster (SEDEC) of the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur InternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The SEA-Hub project is implemented in partnership with the states and Federal Ministry of Education, Youths and Sports and the private sector.
SEA-Hub is a co-curricular entrepreneurial club aimed at building and preparing young minds to practically understand the basics of running a successful business. Its activities foster opportunity recognition, innovation, risk-taking, critical thinking, and in the long rung a secured economic future for young Nigerians through improved employment creation outcomes. SEA-Hubs have been inaugurated in about 330 Secondary Schools having reached close to 30,000 students across 11 states in Nigeria.
Ten (10) SEA-Hubs will be competing and exhibiting during the competitions and Ten (10) schools will be exhibiting only.
Objectives of the competitions include:
- To showcase the innovative mini businesses and products of SEA-Hub Schools, reward and celebrate outstanding business ideas and products of SEA-Hub students and their Staff Advisers across the active SEA-Hub Schools.
- To sustain the energy level of SEA-Hub students by promoting practical and active entrepreneurial learning through their mini businesses.
- To showcase the entrepreneurship ingenuity of SEA-Hub students.
- To provide the sustainability and impact of SEA-Hub intervention.
- To provide recognition to the students and schools for their effort in successfully running innovative mini businesses.
- To serve as an incentive and motivation to other schools and students to run successful SEA-Hub mini businesses.
National Competition
The top 3 schools from each of the states are invited to participate at the national competition and exhibition. Each school would be represented be 3 SEA-Hub students (who will present for their schools) 2 Staff Advisers (supervising teachers) and the school principal.
