NASARAWA: BREAKING: APC SEC MEMBERS PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOV. SULE, STATE CHAIRMAN, ALH. ALIYU

By: Wilson Bako (Lafia),

The National Executive Committee of the All Progressive Congress APC in Nasarawa State has described as baseless and mischievous the recent agitations on social media for the immediate resignation of the state Party Chairman, Alh. Aliyu Bello, based on the allegations that he was not democratically elected to fill the vacant position.

Addressing Media Practitioners in Lafia on Monday, the State Secretary of the party, Mr. Yairus Daguza explained that such falsehoods are capable of ridiculing the good reputation of the party in the eyes of right-thinking persons.

The party Secretary recalled that in August last year the party held its meeting with the sole aim of finding a replacement for the then-state party Chairman, Mr. John Mamman, who was appointed Commissioner in the state, as a Cabinet Member of the State Executive Council.

He said the meeting was Chaired by the State Deputy Chairman of the party, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde, and was strictly monitored by INEC as enshrined in the Electoral Act, which is in with the APC’s Constitution.

He further disclosed that, at that meeting, Hon. Aliyu Bella was duly elected as the Party Chairman in the state having been nominated and approved by SEC as a replacement for the former party state Chairman, Mr. John Mamman.

He also explained that the plan of all those calling for the state Chairman's removal is simply based on the personal relationship of Hon. Aliyu Bello's relationship with his bosom friend, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, whom he said is from a different political party.

Mr. Daguza further said that, there was no justification whatsoever to divorce the state Chairman of the party from his childhood friends under the claims that he (Aliyu Bello)is supporting the gubernatorial ambition of Senator Wadada.

The party Scribe maintained that Hon. Aliyu Bello would be the last person under his watch to see another person from a different party apart from the APC clinch the state's number one seat not to talk more of supporting such an antiparty act.

While calling on the party’s supporters to maintain peaceful coexistence and exercise restraint, Mr. Daguza urged members to rally around Engineer Abdullahi Sule's led administration in the state, especially in his untiring efforts to turn the fortune of the state.

He assured the party loyalists that in no distant future, opportunities would be opened to them to contest whatever position they so desired and appealed to them to rally around the party leadership being headed by a democrat, Alh. Aliyu Bello.

During the briefing, the SEC members unanimously passed a vote of confidence on both Governor Abdullahi Sule and the state party Chairman Alh. Aliyu Bello for their unwavering leadership style that has brought rapid development of the state and the progress of the party in the State.
