NASARAWA: GOV. SULE, VISITS THE CORRESPONDENTS’ CHAPEL, CALLS FOR MORE COOPERATION FOR THE STATE'S DEVELOPMENT

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has reaffirmed his commitment to the overall development of the state.

He said this would be achieved through the provision of basic social infrastructure for the benefit of the citizens in the state by his administration.

The Governor, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Mr. Peter Ahemba, during a courtesy visit to members of the Correspondent's chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nasarawa State Council, explained that the Governor means well for the state and its citizens while adding that, “all that is expected from the citizenry is their total support and cooperation with the government”.

 

Mr. Ahemba, who reminded the people of the state that the era of politics and litigations was over and that it was now time for governance, advised them to bury all their political differences and join hands with His Excellency, Governor Sule, to promote and project the growth of the state.

He took time to further express the state government's sincere appreciation to members of the Correspondent's Chapel for their unwavering support and the publicity given to the administration.

According to him, “the confidence and the spirit of the cooperation will continue for the benefit of both parties”.

Mr. Ahemba, assured the media practitioners that the government would continue to operate an open-door policy to give them (Journalists) unhindered access to balance their reports to avoid misrepresentation of facts.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor further disclosed that the ongoing renovation of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat by the state government was aimed at creating an enabling environment for Journalists to practice their trade, while appealing to them to reciprocate the government’s kind gesture by putting in their best.

Responding, the Chairman of the Correspondent's Chapel, Mr. Isaac Ukpoju, thanked the Governor's aide for the visit. He assured him of his member's untiring efforts aimed at giving the government adequate publicity and coverage of its activities.

Mr. Ukpoju, appealed to the state government to assist members of the Chapel with a befitting office to enable them to carry on with their daily activities.
