CALEB MUTFWANG (ESQ) IS A LISTENING GOV. HE WILL ADDRESS THE CONCERNS OF PLATEAU STATE JOINT TRANSPORT, TRADERS AND MARKETERS ASSOCIATIONS----SECRETARY GENERAL

The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang (Esq) has been described as a “listening Governor” for making all efforts possible to nip the One-Day strike called by the PLATEAU STATE JOINT TRANSPORT, TRADERS AND MARKETERS ASSOCIATIONS.

Giving this description of the Governor in an exclusive interview with REALITY Crew in his office, Alh. Sabo Adamu, the Secretary General (Sec. Gen.) of the Plateau State chapter of the Association said, the Plateau State Governor made sure the issues raised before the call for the One-Day strike were placed before the administration’s table before the strike even began.

He said the problem of the administration is not governance, but the exclusion of necessary actors in the formulation and implementation of policies and Orders.

Adding that, “The strike was successful, many trucks were released after paying their fines. Members and other citizens in the state were even calling for more days, while we were pleading for reduction of fine for few other trucks still held”.

The Secretary General said, “We went on a One-Day strike. Before then, we sent letters to all security operatives in the state and the government of the day.

“Our members gave us full cooperation hence, government now called the Joint Associations to a round table. We obeyed the Secretary to the State Government’s invitation, with other sister Associations like the NURTW among others. We told them the reason(s) for the strike and our visits to concerned state Departments and Agencies before the strike and why it was not resolved.

“We also brought to government notice that the Associations were never invited by the Committee to enable us put in an input in the Executive Order 003 2024.

“We urged the Government to look into our concerns and address areas that would introduce more harmony.

Alh. Sabo, disclosed that the SSG has promised to look into their areas of concerns and has immediately setup a Committee to which, members of the Joint Associations are included.

Speaking on a humanitarian grounds, Alh. Sabo said, “Government must always realize that they are governing human beings and not animals. They should have conducted widely before formulating and implementing policies and Orders.

“Government must make sure it always reaches out to necessary parties in any giving issue or policy in order to address issues by also having a listening ears.

“This Government is however working. It is the second best now after Jang’s administration”.
