PLATEAU: BREAKING: GOV. CALEB MUTFWANG’S CHAIRMEN, REJECTED AT LGC GATES

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

The battle for the control of the 17 Local Government Councils in Plateau State has entered phase II, as the Chairmen of the Interim Transition Committee sworn-in by Governor Caleb Mutfwang have been denied access to office in their respective Local Government Councils, REALITY so gathered.

GOV. CALEB

You would recall that, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, having received a correspondent from the Plateau State House of Assembly vide a letter, Ref No S/PLHA/ADM/124/VOL.VI/XXX, dated 1st June, 2023, recommending the suspension of the Seventeen (17) Local Government Areas’ Chairmen, had approved their suspension and had directed that, all properties belonging to the Local Government Areas should be immediately handed over to the Directors of Personnel Management in their respective Councils.

ALGON PLATEAU STATE CHAPTER

However, not being satisfied with their suspensions and the steps taken by the Governor, the Executive Chairmen had collectively approached the Plateau State High Court sitting in Jos, the Plateau State capital, where they had obtained several restraining Orders and Injunction against the Governor and the Plateau State Government.

In spite of the restraining order and injunctions against the Governor by the Court, allegedly served by the Plaintiffs, Plateau State House of Assembly has approved the Governor’s nominees to serve as Interim Transition Committee Chairmen in the Seventeen (17) Local Government Councils.

REALITY gathered that, in an attempt to demonstrate their new powers after their swearing in ceremony, the ITC Chairmen approached their various LGC offices where they were embarrassed and refused access.
